Sometimes the best part of a motorcycle adventure happens when you get OFF the bike! 😎

Here I am scrambling over the famous dragon at Hang Múa in Ninh Bình, Vietnam 🇻🇳 — and what an incredible place to explore!

For me, a proper motorcycle adventure isn’t just about clocking up the miles. It’s about discovering hidden gems, exploring incredible places, meeting people and experiencing everything along the way!

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love riding, but combining amazing roads with a few unforgettable stops is what makes an adventure truly special! 🏔️🏍️

🏍️🇻🇳 NINH BÌNH – IT ALL WENT WRONG! 😱

I came to Ninh Bình expecting breathtaking scenery, incredible roads and another unforgettable motorcycle adventure…

What I DIDN’T expect was to lose hundreds of pounds worth of motorcycle gear, end up dealing with the police, and accidentally capture footage of one of the rarest animals on Earth! 🐒🤯

Safe to say, this adventure didn’t exactly go to plan! 😂

🏍️🇻🇳 IT ALL WENT WRONG IN NINH BÌNH! 😩

What was supposed to be one of my most beautiful motorcycle adventures in Vietnam turned into an absolute nightmare! 🤯

💸 Hundreds of pounds worth of motorcycle gear vanished…

👮 The police got involved…

⛔ One of my planned destinations was unexpectedly closed…

But just when I thought this trip couldn’t get any more eventful, something truly extraordinary happened! 🐒

While flying my drone over the spectacular landscapes of Ninh Bình, I unknowingly captured footage of one of the rarest primates on Earth! 😱

I didn’t even realise what I’d filmed until I got home!

From breathtaking scenery to absolute disaster and an incredible wildlife discovery, this adventure had EVERYTHING!

A brilliant day riding around Hòa Bình Lake… until I had to find my homestay in the dark. 😅🏍️

The roads looked completely different at night, and I was more than ready to get off the bike. One last challenge before I could call this budget ride done! 🌙🇻🇳

Ninh Bình looks like a dream in these photos. The ride was an absolute nightmare. 😫🏍️

We’ve been out filming again, and this trip gave me beautiful scenery, one of the worst days I’ve had on the bike… and a sighting of an incredibly rare animal I still can’t quite believe I caught on camera. 👀🔎

I’ve decided it’s time to give something back to the riding community! 🙌

Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours exploring, filming and putting together motorcycle routes across the UK and Vietnam. The Secret Ride website now has a growing library of adventures, and I’d love to see more people getting out there and enjoying them!

So I’ve decided to give away a few of my routes completely FREE! 🎉

Lunch stop in a tiny Hòa Bình village shop: one bag of beef jerky and a bottle of water. That was all I could find. 😂

The upside? It cost me just 58p. 💸🏍️

The road ended at Hòa Bình Lake, but the budget adventure wasn’t over. Bike aboard, across the water, and back on the road on the other side. 🇻🇳

I set off from Hanoi on a budget motorbike to ride around Hòa Bình Lake. Then the road ended… and I had to put the bike on a boat. 🏍️🚤

That was only part of it. There were mountain roads, a waterfall, and a conversation with a policeman who said he wanted to keep my passport. 😳
