Earlier this week Neverland enjoyed another cracking day at sea, with anglers landing over 60 Spurdogs, 12 Smoothhounds, 2 Thornback Rays, 2 Bass, 1 Tope, a handful of Whiting, and very few dogfish.

The standout moment belonged to David Johnson, who rewrote the boat competition record book twice in the same day. First with an 18 lb Spurdog, before going one better later in the session with an impressive 18½ lb fish.

Finding these migrating Spurdogs takes a lot of planning, local knowledge, and time on the water, but days like this make the effort worthwhile. Plenty of action, plenty of fish, and some memorable catches for everyone on board.

Yesterday we stayed on the Spurdogs once again, with four fish over 15 lb coming aboard and giving the lads some proper new PBs along the way.

The fish fought hard throughout the session, with smoothhounds still showing well alongside the usual doggies and whiting to keep rods bending between the bigger runs.

The Spurdogs are moving quickly along the coast at the moment, but Neverland continues to stay on the marks and keep anglers amongst the fish.

When conditions have allowed over the last four weeks, Neverland has consistently found and put anglers onto the migrating Spurdogs moving north along the Suffolk coastline.

These fast-moving sharks travel in large shoals at this time of year, feeding hard as they push through our waters.

Today saw the Neverland boat Spur record smashed, with Andy landing this outstanding 20 lb specimen - only 5 lb 4 oz short of the British record. A serious fish and one safely returned after a quick photo.

Bookings for next year’s Spurdog trips are already coming in fast, with selected dates in April and May 2027 now available through our online calendar or direct.

Another strong day for the individuals aboard Neverland today, with Tony and Andy taking the crew onto new grounds 5 miles from shore.

The smoothhounds were straight onto the baits from the moment the anchor dropped and kept everyone busy throughout the session. By the end of the day, more than 100 fish had come over the rails, including 31 smoothhounds.

The photos say plenty, and we are reliably informed Derek managed a new PB with three “hot dogs” landed during the trip.

Another good day at sea earlier this week with a group of family and friends aboard Neverland. The lads stayed busy from start to finish, landing 20 spurdogs, 3 smoothhounds, 38 dogfish, and 12 whiting across the session.

A lot of work goes into tracking the annual movement of the spurs as they push north along our coastline each year, and once again the effort paid off with the fish found further offshore.

Biggest of the day, and currently entered into the 2026 competition, was this cracking 17 lb spur for Frannie. A proper fish and a new PB before the big female was safely returned after a quick photo or two.

A quality skate brought aboard this week, with some real weight behind it and a proper fight all the way to the net. Days like this show what is out there when conditions fall right and the fish are feeding.

The Neverland competition is back for 2026. Thanks to everyone who entered last year and helped raise funds for Mind Body & Sea CIC.

The fishing continues to improve as the warmer weeks bring new species into our waters—and the spurdogs have well and truly arrived.

This was one of the standout fish from yesterday’s trip, coming in at over 11lb and giving a great account of itself on the line. The anglers enjoyed catching 196 fish in total with all being safely returned.

With consistent action offshore and plenty of fish about, it’s shaping up to be a brilliant run of trips over the coming weeks. Whether you're after a personal best or just a great day out on the water, Neverland delivers.

Neverland got off to a flying start this season with the Suffolk Police team aboard.

With near-perfect sea conditions, the day began on a bank around 8 miles offshore, and we were straight into fish. The trip doubled as a qualifier ahead of a match against Norfolk Police, which brought a competitive edge alongside the usual friendly banter.

As the session developed, more of the target species showed, with spurdogs coming over the rails alongside smoothhounds, dogfish, and whiting.

By the end of the day, 209 fish had been landed, including 15 spurdogs and 10 smoothhounds, making it a strong start to the season all round.

A great day on the water, and a brilliant effort from everyone onboard.
