As appealing as the idea of a White Christmas is. The reality is that an inch of snow and the country grinds to a halt. Anyone needing to travel would be unable to make their holiday journey and the scene would be reminiscent of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol but without Scrooge's transformation. Basically, pretty miserable. In recent years, Christmas morning invariably seems to arrive in a dreary, drizzly, warm, grey murk, and remain that way for the rest of the day.
Just once, it would be nice to have a morning like today's. Cold, clear & frosty with a robin hopping about. Too much to ask?
