🚐 Bus Stop: From us, there is a bus stop only a 3 minute walk called Benone Corner which can take Bellarena Train Station or Castlerock Train Station.
🚉 Trains: Bellarena Train Station (7 minutes drive) or Castlerock Train Station (8minutes drive). Both of these train stations, take you into the middle of Portrush via Coleraine (Portrush Train Station) - 4 minutes drive or 18 minutes walk to Royal Portrush Golf Club. Train timetable will be posted nearer the time.
🚕 Taxis: Can be arranged nearer the time.

Our Story

Golden Sands Getaway is a newly opened business in October 2019. We are situated heart of Benone walking distance from Benone Beach, We have two self catering apartments and 6 Luxury Glamping Pods on Site. Benone Beach stretches for over 7 miles from Downhill westwards to where it meets Magilligan Point at the mouth of Lough Foyle and forms part of one of Ireland's longest beaches. Benone Beach, a Blue Flag award winning beach, is popular throughout the year for a variety of outdoor activities and events with great views along the North Coast, to Inishowen in Donegal and to Scotland. Breathe the 'Danny Boy' Air and take in The Local Danny Boy Festival in the home town of the famous song. Jane Ross, who wrote down the Air to the World famous song, lived just a few miles away in Limavady town. Other local annual festivals include The Limavady Jazz & Blues Festival and the Roe Valley Folk Festival. Golden Sands Getaway is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The local Pub and Restaurant are within walking distance as well as other Pubs and Restaurants within a ten minute drive. The area offers tremendous amenities with seven miles of beach, a Multiplex Cinema and Bowling Alley, two Leisure Centres, Outdoor Pursuits, Pony Trekking, Two Golf Courses, Gliding Club, Forest walks, Roe Valley Country Park, Hezlett House, Downhill Castle and Gardens, Mussenden Temple and the Lough Foyle Ferry to Greencastle Co Donegal all within a ten mile radius. This is an ideal base for attending the World Famous N.W, 200 Motorcycle Road Races and Playing on Famous Golf Courses and exploring the Northwest and Donegal areas. THE BEACH HOUSE- The ‘Beach House’ Apartment is modern with a beach feel interior. This 3 bedroom en-suite holiday home sleeps up to 6 people.

The kitchen/living room is open plan area with a fully equipped kitchen and has a spacious seating area looking out to a Binevenagh Mountain.

THE STUDIO- The Studio Apartment is modern with a open plan interior. This 2 bedroom holiday home sleeps up to 6 people.
