☀️ Hottest Summer Spots in Europe for Families (from Northern Ireland) ✈️

Looking for a sunny break with the kids that’s not too far from home? Here are a few tried-and-tested family favourites for summer holidays in Europe, all with good flights from Belfast or Dublin and plenty to keep wee ones (and grown-ups!) happy:
Costa del Sol, Spain
With beaches for days, family-friendly resorts, and loads of splash parks, Costa del Sol is a solid bet. Places like Benalmádena and Fuengirola are packed with activities, and you’re never far from an ice cream or a cold sangria (for the adults, obviously 😄).
Algarve, Portugal
The Algarve is stunning - golden beaches, lovely food, and great weather without being too roasting. Towns like Alvor or Lagos are perfect for families, and there’s loads to explore if the kids get bored of the beach (though they probably won’t).
Greek Islands (like Crete or Rhodes)
Bit further on the flight front but worth it - think calm blue seas, friendly locals, and fresh food even fussy eaters might try. Plus, the kids love spotting all the little lizards and hopping on a boat trip.
Lake Garda, Italy
Not a beach spot, but brilliant for families. You’ve got waterparks, boat trips, and the best pizza and gelato. Plus, it’s just ridiculously pretty. Great mix of chill and adventure.
South of France (like Nice or Antibes)
If you're after something a wee bit classier but still great for kids, the South of France might surprise you. Lovely beaches, easy public transport, and crepes on every corner. What’s not to love?
