From Himalayan heights to lion country – the race roars on.

Last night’s Race Across the World saw the final four teams depart the peaceful hill town of McLeod Ganj, home to the Dalai Lama, embarking on a 1,900km journey south to Sasan Gir in Gujarat. This leg challenged them to traverse four Indian states, choosing between the vibrant cities of Rajasthan—Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Udaipur—or the rugged expanse of the Great Indian Desert.

Their destination, Sasan Gir, serves as the gateway to Gir National Park, the last refuge of the endangered Asiatic lion. With fewer than 600 remaining, these majestic creatures roam freely, occasionally venturing into nearby villages.
