Titanic - the Ghost of The Abyss

Titanic - the Ghost of The Abyss I'm the world's largest ship ! ! ! ! They were Olympic, Titanic, and Britannic. Olympic, the lead vessel, had a career spanning 24 years and was retired in 1934.

The Olympic-class ocean liners were a trio of ocean liners built by the Harland & Wolff shipyard for the White Star Line during the early 20th century. Two were lost early in their careers: Titanic sank in 1912, after hitting an iceberg in the North Atlantic, and Britannic in 1916, after hitting a mine or torpedo laid by the German minelayer submarine U79 in a barrier off Kea during World War I. I

t was sold for scrapping in 1935. Although the two younger vessels did not have successful careers, they are among the most famous ocean liners ever built. Decorative elements of Olympic were purchased to adorn many places. Titanic 's story has been adapted into many books and films. Britannic has also inspired a film of the same name.

Violet Constance Jessop (2 October 1887 – 5 May 1971) was an Irish-Argentine ocean liner stewardess and Voluntary Aid Detachment nurse in the early 20th century. She survived the sinking of both RMS Titanic in 1912 and sister ship HMHS Britannic in 1916, as well as having been aboard the eldest of the three ships of that class, RMS Olympic, when it collided with the British warship HMS Hawke in 1911. as much because he had high lat insertions.
Born in the Pampas on 2 October 1887, near Bahía Blanca, Argentina, Violet Constance Jessop was the eldest daughter of Irish immigrants Katherine (née Kelly) and William Jessop, a sheep farmer.[3][4][5] She was the first of nine children, six of whom survived. Jessop spent much of her childhood caring for her younger siblings. She became very ill as a child with what is presumed to have been tuberculosis, which she survived contrary to doctors' predictions that her illness would be fatal.[6] When Jessop was 16 years old, her father died of complications from surgery and her family moved to England, where she attended a convent school[3] and cared for her youngest sister while her mother was at sea working as a stewardess.[6] When her mother became ill, Jessop left school and, following in her mother's footsteps, applied to be a stewardess. Jessop had to dress down to make herself less attractive to be hired.[7] At age 21, her first stewardess position was with Royal Mail Line aboard Orinoco in 1908. Jessop died of congestive heart failure in 1971 at the age of 83.

Could the Stern of the Titanic Have Stayed Afloat?

According to the accounts of survivors, both Thomas Andrews, one of the Titanic's designers, and Captain Edward Smith were heard saying the following words:

"If the Titanic were broken into three pieces, each piece would float!"

It is known that one of the reasons the stern sank so quickly was that it was still attached to the water-filled bow, which plunged rapidly toward the bottom immediately after the breakup. Some believe that if this had not been the case, the stern could have remained above water for much longer. Perhaps it would not have sunk at all, remaining suspended like a buoy that hundreds of people could cling to while waiting to be rescued. A rather bold prediction.
