For some it is still the Whitsun half-term break. Why not pay a visit to the Fairbourne Miniature Railway, fun for adults and children alike. Even better, kiddies are only £1.
Dogs are welcome and on request there is a wheelchair carriage.

Another great place to escape the heat is the Inigo Jones Slateworks. As well as a tour there is a cafe on site which is franchised to a local farmer and includes a butchery and farm shop.
It is open daily and dogs are welcome.

If you need to escape from the heat and fancy an adventure then the Snowdonia National Park is the place for you, or more specifically the Copper Mines. They are open daily and are located on the A498 just outside Beddgelert – look out for the brown tourist signs.
As well as the mines there is a cafe, shop and visitor centre. Dogs are allowed but the mines are not accessible for wheelchair users or prams/buggies.
