✈️🌴 DAY 2 & DAY 3 – JET2 DESTINATION DISCOVERY | ALGARVE 🇵🇹
A little apology for the delay in updating you on Days 2 and 3… it’s been a hectic few days, but absolutely brilliant! So, here’s what we’ve been up to!
DAY 2 – BEAUTIFUL HOTELS, MARINAS & A LITTLE BIT OF FARO!
We kicked off the day with a delicious à la carte breakfast at 3HB Falésia Beach, in The View Restaurant. And what a way to start the day! Just fabulous! 😍
Next up was a tour of a variety of apartments and suites at both 3HB Falésia Beach and 3HB Falésia Gardens.
Both properties have been newly renovated and are absolutely stunning!
And I’ve spotted something particularly special for larger families… 👀
If you’re a family of five and would love a really beautiful suite with THREE separate sleeping areas, give me a shout. I’ve got a rather lovely option up my sleeve for you!
We then had some free time, and instead of heading down to Olhos de Água as I’d originally planned, I decided to jump in a taxi to Vilamoura.
At just €20 and around 20 minutes away, it was the perfect opportunity to visit somewhere new.
And WOW! What a beautiful place!
We found ourselves a lovely spot beside the marina for lunch (yes, Day 2 involved A LOT of food! 😂), followed by a little wander and some retail therapy.
Then it was back to the hotel for a quick change before Jet2 whisked us off for an evening excursion in Faro.
Our private transfer took around 40 minutes, and by the way, Jet2 transfers are VERY luxurious! 👌
On arrival in Faro, we were greeted by electric Tuk Tuks for a guided tour around the city. Absolutely loved it!
Faro really surprised me. If you’re looking for a city break with history, beautiful architecture, lovely restaurants and plenty of shopping, I’d definitely add it to your list!
After our tour, it was time for cocktails… and I was VERY happy to discover a Portuguese version of one of my favourite cocktails! 🍹
A cocktail (or two!) later, we headed to Seven Cuts Steakhouse for dinner. Another delicious meal!
We eventually made our way back to the hotel in Olhos de Água, although some of the party animals weren’t quite ready for bed and headed into Albufeira to carry on the evening. Just €10 in a taxi!
The rest of us opted for the all-inclusive cocktails and entertainment back at the hotel. No complaints here! 😂
Another fabulous day, discovering some beautiful accommodation and experiencing two very different sides of the Algarve.
DAY 3 – A LITTLE EXPLORING BEFORE HOME!
Day 3 was our travel-home day, but I wasn’t going to leave without having a little look around Olhos de Água!
I decided to get up early and make the most of my last morning.
Just a 10-minute stroll from the hotel, passing a lovely selection of shops, cafés and restaurants along the way, I arrived at the beach.
And WOW! What a gorgeous beach! 😍
I particularly loved the little sheltered coves. I could easily imagine spending a full day here, finding a lovely spot in one of the coves, setting up camp for the day and enjoying the sunshine.
The best bit? You’re still within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants.
At 11am our private transfer arrived to take us back to the airport, and sadly it was time to say goodbye to the Algarve.
SO, WHAT DID I THINK OF THE ALGARVE? 🇵🇹
I’ve absolutely loved experiencing this little corner of Portugal and I will most definitely be back!
One of the things I love about the Algarve is that there’s something for everyone, depending on the sort of holiday you’re looking for.
A little guide from my own experience:
🌴 OLHOS DE ÁGUA
If you prefer a quieter resort, but still want shops, restaurants and a beautiful beach within walking distance, this is a lovely option.
🍹 ALBUFEIRA
If you like somewhere a little livelier, with plenty of bars, restaurants and nightlife, this is worth considering.
⛵ VILAMOURA
For a more sophisticated marina atmosphere, lovely restaurants, shopping and a beautiful setting, Vilamoura is right up your street.
🏛️ FARO
If you’re after a city break with history, culture, shopping and fantastic food, don’t overlook Faro!
And that’s a wrap on my Jet2 Destination Discovery trip!

I’ve come home with lots of lovely memories, plenty of photographs, a notebook full of information and some fantastic new hotel knowledge to share with my customers.

It's now 6pm and I'm on the train back from the airport! Very handy being able to have the direct train from Holyhead to Manchester Airport for those of us in North Wales! 🏴
