The UK government has announced that pre-departure testing will no longer be required for travellers returning to the UK and arrivals will not have to isolate until they get a negative PCR test.

We’ve got great news! Travel Counsellors has been rated ‘Green’ for Covid flexibility on the new Which? Holiday Checker!

After taking part in several surveys with the leading UK consumer champion Which? this year, today the company launched a consumer-focussed online tool that rates companies green, amber or red based on their refund and amendment policies in relation to Covid-19 travel disruption. It is designed to makes it easy for people to check which travel companies have provided the best service to their customers, offering flexible booking options and refunds, and which ones could leave them out of pocket if circumstances change.

This accolade further highlights how we have looked after our customers throughout the pandemic, building on our consistent 5-star Trustpilot rating and three-times been voted ‘number one’ in MoneySavingExpert’s consumer poll, which ranks how well travel companies are looking after their customers during COVID-19.

Fully-vaccinated travellers will no longer need to self-isolate on arrival into England from 19th July. There will still be a requirement to take a pre-departure test three days before travelling and a PCR test on day two of arrival back in England.

✈️Global Travel Taskforce publishes framework for restart✈️

Confirmation of a requirement for ‘gold-standard’ PCR tests post-arrival but a commitment to assess options for reducing costs including the use of cheaper tests.

Recommendations include a three-tier ‘traffic light’ system for grading countries, with an initial list to be published “by early May” alongside confirmation of whether international travel can restart at the earliest possible date of May 17.

The current ‘permission to travel form’ will be removed alongside the easing of restrictions, meaning passengers will no longer need to provide a valid reason for leaving the country.

Other developments include plans to digitise the current Passenger Locator Form, “enabling checks to take place at e-gates by autumn 2021”, enhanced enforcement powers for the CAA to protect consumer rights and the introduction of a ‘Covid-19 charter’ setting out requirements and rights of passengers while measures remain in place.

The allocation of countries within the traffic light system will be kept under constant review, with formal reviews of all restrictions to take place on June 28 and at ‘checkpoints’ no later than July 31 and October 1.
The requirements for green, amber and red list countries were confirmed as follows:

Green: Arrivals will need to take a pre-departure test as well as a PCR test on or before day 2 of their arrival back into the UK but will not need to quarantine on return (unless they receive a positive result) or take any additional tests, halving the cost of tests on their return from holiday

Amber: Arrivals will need to quarantine for a period of 10 days and take a pre-departure test, a PCR test on day 2 and day 8 with the option for Test to Release on day 5 to end self-isolation early

Red: Arrivals will be subject to restrictions currently in place for ‘red list’ countries which includes a 10-day stay in a managed quarantine hotel, pre-departure testing and PCR testing on day 2 and 8.

After last night’s update from the Prime Minister things are still looking positive for international travel this summer and for 2022.

While we may still not have an exact date for when holidays abroad can definitely resume, there is still reassurance that we are getting close to being able to reconnect with the world from May onwards.

Of course, when I can help you get back out there, your safety will be my top priority. So, as we hear further details over the coming days around how travel will be ready to take off, you can be assured that I will be available to offer clarity.

As always, I am here to help you navigate the world with confidence and will continue to closely follow all government guidelines, along with all airline, local or in-resort policies, to ensure a stress-free trip.

In the meantime, please do get in touch if you are planning on arranging a holiday soon. Demand is expected to be high, particularly as we head into 2022, so it will important to plan ahead to avoid missing out. About the villa

Villa Caria is a perfectly private villa surrounded by beautiful bright bougainvillea accessed via a private driveway. Recently renovated, the villa has quite an array of facilities, including a wonderful children’s play area with indoor and outdoor swings, a tree house and a climbing wall, meaning kids will be entertained for the entire holiday; while everyone can enjoy use of the games and cinema room.

One of many highlights at this house is the fabulous large private pool which features an exciting explorable cave and waterfall; it’s also connected to the children’s pool, indoor pool and whirlpool bath via a network of waterways, and having an indoor pool gives the flexibility to swim whatever the weather. A sauna, gym and state of the art security system prove that every little detail has been thought of at this property.
