Just by St Paul’s Cathedral are some new benches. But actually they are not that new. There is an interesting story about recycling London’s monumental granite.

Learnt about it at a great talk organised by who are running a series of events around recycling our stones for a sustainable city.

Top Tips from a tour guide for visiting the Tower of London.

If you are on a tight time schedule give yourself at least 2 hours to do it justice.

You have a choice of where to swim in the Thames in London

Tidal Richmond - beautiful and quite quiet

Or

Above the lock at Teddington - new designated swim area, tested for water quality, but sharing it with lots of teenagers and a flotilla of discarded BuzzBalls!

Either one are lovely on a hot day. But be careful out there!

Minutes from Marylebone High Street is a beautiful garden. It has a hidden story of mass graves and piles of horse manure.

Head to the Science Museum to see the world’s first calculator. Well it’s actually more complicated than that. And do not expect something that can fit in your pocket.

Do contact me if interested in science type (or other) tours in London.
