Our photography training is designed for photographers who want to improve their skills and take wonderful photos! 36exp is a group of professional, knowledgeable and enthusiastic photographers offering photography training in London. We create and deliver photography courses and workshops for photographers so that they can improve their skills. The photographers who run our courses and workshops have been carefully selected because they have vast amounts of knowledge and experience to share, they are good communicators and are committed to developing other photographers. The education we provide covers a wide spectrum of subjects, interests and skill levels. There should be something for everyone. The courses and photography workshops happen in a variety of venues and locations in London.

Another one from Valencia. This is the Hemisfèric, part of the City of Arts and Sciences designed by Santiago Calatrava. It was the first building in the complex and is shaped like a giant eye. It houses a planetarium and IMAX cinema, and it looks like something from another planet.

The walls are covered in trencadís, broken white tile, which picks up the light really well. In the afternoon the structure casts big curved shadows across the wall and the ground. I set up the frame and waited for someone to walk through it. This man looked down at just the right moment.

Yesterday was 9 October, Valencia’s national day, the Dia de la Comunitat Valenciana. It commemorates Jaume I entering the city in 1238 and ending Muslim rule, which is treated as the founding of the Kingdom of Valencia.

The main event is the procession of the Senyera. The flag is lowered from the town hall balcony and carried through the streets of the old town. There are also parades, a mascletà and plenty of noise. It’s also the day of Sant Dionís, when people give their partners a silk handkerchief with marzipan sweets wrapped inside.

Most cameras were pointed at the procession. I turned mine the other way and photographed the people watching it. These are faces in the crowd.

Just back from a long weekend in Cantabria, northern Spain.

This was my sixth visit, and it still delivers some of the best coastal landscapes I've photographed. There's nothing quite like sitting on that rugged coastline, waiting for the sun to rise.

The anchovies are delicious too!

Just back from Porto, where I spent a few days shooting in the late summer light.

It's one of the most photogenic cities I've been to. There are steep stairways, old port cellars and iron bridges everywhere, and the light comes low across the river in the evenings. Highly recommended if you're looking for somewhere to take a camera.

Night photography season is almost back.

The evenings are drawing in, and we're looking forward to getting out around London after dark again. The city looks completely different though your camera once the lights come on. There's reflections in the river, light trails on the bridges and much more.

Here are four from last season to get things started.

For years, many of us have been hoarding our own photography.

We capture landscapes from trips, portraits of friends, and random, experimental shots, only for the files to end up buried on hard drives or lost in a social media feed.

Aside from the select few images that get printed and framed for the house, the vast majority of our work never actually sees the light of day.

If people occasionally look at your photos and tell you that you should “do something” with them, it asks a question: how do you get your work out into the world for people to see? Real people!

If you are looking for meaningful ways to share, exhibit, or license your photos, free from the usual social media grind, here are a few avenues to explore.
