Then, after a 15-minute ride on the Thames Clipper, we'll head east to photograph the modern architecture of Canary Wharf over the water.

In this 2.5-hour evening workshop, you'll be guided by a professional photographer who will take you and a small group of enthusiasts to prime locations along the Thames. Shooting from the shores at low tide offers a unique perspective and excellent opportunities for night photography.

We'll cover essential techniques, including:

• Achieving correct exposure for the best night photos

• Composition techniques to make your images stand out

• Maximising reflections and colours on the water

• Camera settings for impressive night shots

• Personalised guidance for any questions you may have

A camera with manual mode and a tripod are required.

What’s your favourite view of London?

This is one of ours.

South side of the Thames, near the Tate Modern, go down some steps onto the foreshore (only at low tide!) and take in the view across the river toward St Pauls.

One of the best things about being into photography is that it gets you out at weird times of day to unusual places in the pursuit of a good shot. It makes you see things that you would normally miss, and it gives you an excuse to explore London which is an amazing city for photography.

And, if you try really hard and tune out the helicopters, sirens, planes, high energy running groups, traffic, boat parties and Thames Clippers it’s almost peaceful down by the Thames at night!
