Ever heard the captain announce “muster drill” or seen “embarkation day” on your docs and thought… what now? 🤔

If you’re new to cruising, the lingo can feel like a secret code. Here are the must-know terms so you sound like a pro on your next trip ⛴️👇

⚓️ Embarkation Day = boarding day 😍
⚓️ Disembarkation Day = leaving day 😢
⚓️ Forward = front of ship
⚓️ Aft = back of ship
⚓️ Port = left side of ship
⚓️ Starboard = right side of ship
⚓️ Midship = middle of ship
⚓️ Ship Time = onboard time (varies by zone)
⚓️ Tender = smaller boat that takes you ashore when a pier isn’t available
⚓️ Muster Drill = mandatory safety drill + reporting station
