And that’s a wrap.

What a week.

From the first rehearsal in the Song School to the final procession through Worcester Cathedral; days filled with extraordinary music, beautiful services, laughter, exploring, and a choir that has been an absolute joy to spend the week with.

To our wonderful visiting singers, musicians and directors; thank you for the music, the friendship and for throwing yourselves so wholeheartedly into everything this week had to offer. You have sung quite beautifully.

There is something very special about a cathedral residency; becoming part of the daily rhythm of a place like this, singing in these stalls day after day, and making memories together that will travel home long after the last note has finished.

It has been a privilege to share a little of this one.

Safe travels home; and from all of us at UK Choir Tours, thank you for a truly wonderful week.

Curtains closed. For now.

What an absolutely beautiful day in Tewkesbury.

We began at the magnificent Tewkesbury Abbey; wandering, exploring and absorbing centuries of history. The scale and beauty of the architecture are simply extraordinary, made all the more remarkable when you stop to think about how it was created so many centuries ago.

Then out into Tewkesbury itself, with its historic streets lined with the colourful banners of those who fought at the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471; York and Lancaster facing one another in one of the decisive battles of the Wars of the Roses.

And after all that history, there was really only one thing to do; find the river, enjoy the breeze, have a cold drink and, of course, an ice cream.

History, extraordinary architecture, sunshine and a beautiful English riverside; a rather wonderful day.

🇬🇧🇺🇸 A NEW CHAPTER FOR UK CHOIR TOURS

We are delighted to announce that Richard Prior is joining UK Choir Tours Ltd as our U.S.-based Consultant and Partner.

This is a particularly special appointment for us — because Richard first came to UK Choir Tours as a client.

In 2025, he brought his church choir to Lincoln Cathedral for a residency. He was also joined by Stellarum, the professional vocal octet of which he is a founding member, for a series of performances across the country.

From that first tour, a professional relationship developed into a friendship, and ultimately into a shared vision for the future of UK Choir Tours.

Richard brings an exceptional breadth of experience to our team. Raised in the United Kingdom within the world of church music, he sang as a chorister and choral scholar at several cathedrals before becoming a member of the renowned choir of St Mary the Virgin, High Pavement, Nottingham.

He holds a BA in Music from Leeds University and an AMusD in Composition from Nottingham University, where he also pursued choral and orchestral conducting.

For more than three decades, Richard has built a distinguished career in the United States, working across academia, professional conducting, church music and international government relations. His experience spans both sides of the Atlantic, giving him a unique understanding of the musical, cultural and practical considerations involved in bringing American choirs to the United Kingdom.

And perhaps most importantly, Richard already understands what it feels like to be on the other side of the tour.

Reflecting on his experience as a UK Choir Tours client, Richard said:

“Working with Tom and Victoria was for me, unparalleled. Their level of expertise and commitment to our experience as a visiting choir was remarkable, and I was struck by the veracity of the company’s philosophy of ‘For musicians, by musicians’. When the opportunity arose to partner, there was simply no question or hesitation.”

Those words mean a great deal to us.

Since we founded UK Choir Tours, our aim has always been to offer something beyond a conventional tour — creating opportunities for choirs to experience the musical and cultural life of the United Kingdom at the highest possible level, while ensuring that every detail is handled with the understanding and care that only musicians can provide.

Richard’s appointment strengthens that vision.

With a member of our team now based in the United States, we are able to offer our American choirs an even greater level of personal contact, support and expertise, from the earliest stages of planning through to their arrival in the UK.

We are incredibly excited to welcome Richard to the team and to see where this next chapter takes us.

Back to the Song School.

Another rehearsal together this morning; plenty of music, plenty of concentration and, as ever, a little bit of mischief along the way.

Some of our favourite candid moments from behind the scenes as the choir settles into the rhythm of the week at Worcester; rehearsing together, making music and getting ready to head back into the Cathedral.

“The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended,
The darkness falls at thy behest.”

A beautiful end to another day at Worcester Cathedral.

This evening’s Evensong was something rather special; wonderful singing, some superb solo moments, and a visiting choir absolutely at home in the stalls.

They sang beautifully.

What a brilliant last-minute change of plan!

An unexpected morning in Stratford-upon-Avon turned into such a fantastic addition to our week; a wander around Shakespeare’s hometown, followed by a visit to the wonderful .

And what an experience! Dressing up, writing with quills and discovering what education would have been like in Shakespeare’s day; everything was incredibly engaging, interactive and so professionally done.

A huge thank you to the team for making us so welcome. You do an absolutely fantastic job and we loved every minute of it!

Then back to Worcester for Evensong this afternoon.
