Some people wonder what we do for the rest of the year. Apart from answering emails and chasing booking requests at various places, we also do a lot of recon, planning and logistical research! Cambridge never fails to enchant.

A little glimpse of the beautiful surroundings of St John’s College, Cambridge — where centuries of history, extraordinary architecture and a living musical tradition come together.

For a choir, there can be few things quite like experiencing these remarkable places through music.

Like many people, we remember where we were when we watched the events unfolding on our television screens on September 11th 2001. Remembering all of those who didn’t come home that day, and those whose lives were changed forever.

Thinking especially of our friends across the United States today. 🇺🇸

The office is currently closed while we enjoy a well-earned summer break. ☀️ Thank you so much to everyone who has travelled or booked with us this year.

What a summer! 🎶🇬🇧

As our summer season begins to draw to a close, we just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

To every choir, singer, director, committee, Cathedral, guide, coach company, hotel, restaurant and everyone else who has played a part in making this summer so special — thank you for trusting us, supporting us and helping us create some truly unforgettable moments. A particularly big thank you to the Austen’s who have guided so beautifully this summer, and also Neil PC Coaches Lincolnshire, Leanne CoachHire4U and Rebecca The Lincoln Hotel who have coped with us every summer since we started trading!

From beautiful Evensongs in some of England’s greatest Cathedrals, to excursions, shared meals and all the laughter in between, it has been an absolute privilege to spend the summer doing what we love most: bringing musicians together through music, friendship and some very special places.

We’ve watched friendships grow, heard incredible music in incredible buildings, solved the occasional crisis (or two! 😉), and made memories that we hope will stay with our visiting choirs for many years to come.

And to all the wonderful people who have travelled with us this year — you are the reason we do this. ❤️

Thank you for an incredible summer. We’re already looking forward to what’s next… because there’s plenty more music to come! 🎶

And that’s a wrap.

What a week.

From the first rehearsal in the Song School to the final procession through Worcester Cathedral; days filled with extraordinary music, beautiful services, laughter, exploring, and a choir that has been an absolute joy to spend the week with.

To our wonderful visiting singers, musicians and directors; thank you for the music, the friendship and for throwing yourselves so wholeheartedly into everything this week had to offer. You have sung quite beautifully.

There is something very special about a cathedral residency; becoming part of the daily rhythm of a place like this, singing in these stalls day after day, and making memories together that will travel home long after the last note has finished.

It has been a privilege to share a little of this one.

Safe travels home; and from all of us at UK Choir Tours, thank you for a truly wonderful week.

In full voice at Worcester Cathedral.

By this point in the week, the rhythm is well established; rehearsals, music in the stalls and the daily round of services in this extraordinary building.

Another beautiful Evensong from our visiting choir, with some superb singing and wonderful moments throughout.

And we’re not finished yet; three more services still to come.

What an absolutely beautiful day in Tewkesbury.

We began at the magnificent Tewkesbury Abbey; wandering, exploring and absorbing centuries of history. The scale and beauty of the architecture are simply extraordinary, made all the more remarkable when you stop to think about how it was created so many centuries ago.

Then out into Tewkesbury itself, with its historic streets lined with the colourful banners of those who fought at the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471; York and Lancaster facing one another in one of the decisive battles of the Wars of the Roses.

And after all that history, there was really only one thing to do; find the river, enjoy the breeze, have a cold drink and, of course, an ice cream.

History, extraordinary architecture, sunshine and a beautiful English riverside; a rather wonderful day.
