Beaverbrook: Surrey Hills Splendour & Tail-Wagging Treats – By Pixie the Pooch

Hello my lovely four-legged friends (and your ever-loyal humans), Pixie here, back with another paw-some adventure. This time, I’ve been exploring the utterly magnificent Beaverbrook, and let me tell you… it’s one very special place indeed.

A Grand Country Escape

Nestled in the rolling Surrey Hills, Beaverbrook is the kind of place that makes tails wag the moment you arrive. With its grand estate, sweeping views, and fascinating history (I overheard whispers that Winston Churchill himself was a regular guest of Lord Beaverbrook, how terribly impressive!), it feels like stepping into a proper English fairytale.

Pooch-Perfect Comforts

Now, onto the important details…our comforts! I was treated like royalty with my very own cosy bed, dog-friendly towels, water bowls, waste bags, and, most importantly… treats. In fact, I was given the most delicious sausage while my humans enjoyed a delightful lunch at the Garden House restaurant. I do believe I got the better end of that deal.

Do note, my furry friends: we are not permitted in the Main House or the spa (a tragic injustice, as I do enjoy a bit of pampering). But fear not, there are plenty of other lovely spots where we are most welcome.

Village Life (with a Touch of Glamour)

We stayed in a Deluxe Room in an area called The Village; utter bliss! You can stroll there through the grounds or, if you’re feeling particularly fabulous (as I always am), hop into your very own golf buggy provided with the room. Alternatively, you may request a driver, ours was the delightful Marcus, who kindly slowed down over bumps for my royal comfort.

Adventures & Etiquette

The estate is simply divine for walks, with beautiful trails just waiting to be explored. Welly boots and maps are available for your humans, though do remind them: they must be kept on a lead at all times: one simply cannot have unruly humans running about.

Dining-wise, we are welcome in The Conservatory at The Garden House and Mrs Beeton’s restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, perfect for keeping a close eye on any dropped morsels.

Hurlingham Travel Perks

Now listen closely, dear companions, if your humans are clever enough to book through Hurlingham Travel, they’ll receive some rather fabulous added treats (subject to availability):
• Early check-in & late check-out
• Complimentary room upgrade
• Complimentary breakfast
• A special in-room amenity with a note from Hurlingham Travel

And the best part? We furry family members stay complimentary, with all our essentials (and luxuries) thoughtfully provided.

Until Next Time…

Beaverbrook is a truly enchanting escape, full of charm, history, and plenty of space for both adventure and indulgent naps. A perfect countryside retreat, as long as your humans remember to behave themselves, of course.

Woof woof and elegant tail wags,

Pixie

Cowley Manor: Cotswold Charm & Countryside Wanders - By Pixie The Pooch

Hello lovely friends, Pixie here again, your pampered pup with a taste for the finer things (and the occasional muddy paw adventure). This time, I ventured to the dreamy Cotswolds for a stay at Cowley Manor Experimental which is a 4 star hotel with 5 star service.

A CountrysIde Welcome

Tucked away near Cheltenham, this stylish country house is set within 55 acres of glorious gardens, lakes, and woodland. Perfect for pups like me who enjoy a good sniff and a scenic stroll. From the moment I arrived, the team made a proper fuss of me (as they should), and I instantly felt right at home.

Room to Roam (and Snooze)

Now let’s talk about the room, because it was simply pawsome. Mine opened straight out onto the gardens, which meant I could step outside whenever I pleased (very important for spontaneous exploring, you see). Waiting for me? A comfy bed, plus food and water bowls everything a well-travelled pooch requires.

And the grounds? Oh, just acres of rolling lawns, a lake, and even a charming little waterfall. I spent my days trotting about, investigating every corner, and pretending I was on a grand countryside expedition.

Pooch-Approved Perks

The staff were simply lovely, always ready with a smile and a little extra attention (which I graciously accepted). Dogs are very much part of the experience here, not just an afterthought, and I could relax with my humans in the lounges and terrace while they enjoyed their meals.

Speaking of food, my humans were most impressed. They said it was absolutely delicious, with fresh, seasonal flavours (I tried my best to assist, of course). One of our favourite moments was a long, lazy lunch beside a crackling real fire; utter bliss.

I did overhear my humans make a small remark that some of the reception rooms need a refurbish, but it didnt bother me in the slightest as the staff were fantastic!

While I was busy exploring, my humans also indulged in the spa (something about indoor and outdoor pools and lots of pampering, I was too busy napping to investigate).

Until Next Time...

Cowley Manor is the perfect blend of countryside adventure and cosy comfort. There was plenty of space to play, explore, and then curl up somewhere warm afterwards. If your humans are looking for a Cotswolds escape where you’ll be just as welcome as they are, this one is certainly worth a visit.
