By September, Europe's best beaches are half empty. Here's where to find them.

Peak season ended two weeks ago. The kids are back at school. The August crowds went home. And somewhere on the Portuguese Atlantic and the Greek Aegean, two coastlines are quietly having their best month of the year.

Algarve, Portugal. Praia da Marinha and its neighbours look like a Discovery Channel drone reel come to life.
