Real Safari Stories: Andrew and Lani in Botswana 📸

Our clients recently experienced the beauty of Botswana, plus a memorable finish at Victoria Falls.

Staying at Camp Kalahari, Rra Dinare, Muchenje Safari Lodge, and Pioneers Victoria Falls, the mother-son trip spanned multiple locations in Botswana before ending at one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

"The private concessions are definitely the way to go. We had the full attention of our guides and trackers and hardly saw another vehicle."

In private concessions, only guest staying at camps within the concession can enter or do activities on that land, which gives them exclusive viewing opportunities.

For Andrew and Lani that meant seeing meerkats, leopards in trees at sunset, herds of zebras and lion prides.

If you want to learn more about the value of staying in private concessions, our Botswana Safari Specialists will be happy to chat you through the options.

What an absolutely unforgettable group trip! 🐃🐘

Six of the team experienced an amazing multi-country safari. They started at Wilderness Mara in the Mara Triangle and then stayed at Wilderness Usawa in the Serengeti.

From a lion pride with a wildebeest kill and an elephant river crossing in the Serengeti to warthogs and their babies grazing in camp at Wilderness Mara, the wildlife sightings were seriously special.

Highlights included:

📍 Spotting Great Migration wildebeest herds in the Maasai Mara and the Serengeti
📍A leopard kill near camp at Wilderness Usawa
📍 Seeing elephants on a walking safari at Wilderness Usawa
📍 Enjoying a first sundowner at the iconic 'Out of Africa' viewpoint in the Mara

This itinerary combines two unforgettable safari experiences: seeing the Great Migration and trekking with rare mountain gorillas. We asked Senior Safari Specialist Rory to break it down for you. Hit save if you found this useful!

Start your journey with one night at Arusha Coffee Lodge. Set on the outskirts of a working coffee estate, this is the perfect place to rest after international travel before you start your safari.

After domestic flights and a private transfer, you’ll arrive at Wilderness Usawa. Depending on the time of year that you travel, the camp could be in completely different locations in the Serengeti! Usawa is a mobile tented camp, meaning it can move with the herds. The camp is packed up and relocated to follow the herds of the Great Migration, bringing you closer to the heart of the wildlife action.

For the final stretch of your safari, fly to Rwanda and transfer to Wilderness Sabyinyo for your gorilla trekking safari. Styled like a country farmhouse, the guest cottages feature private verandas and warming fireplaces – the perfect base for trekking with mountain gorillas and golden monkeys.
