5 Years in Business 🙌
I'm still pinching myself - 5 years of being self-employed, and honestly, I could never go back now.
Year 1 was a wild ride, full of unknowns and endless possibilities, especially having started a business in the middle of a global pandemic. I was prepared for 1-2 years of marketing, networking, and learning as the business found its footing, but after 6 months it just took off, and I couldn’t believe it!
Year 2 was a whirlwind - I said yes to every opportunity, even when I had no idea what I was doing. I worked SO hard, pouring everything into the business, and the success spoke for itself. It had all happened so fast, and was nothing short of life changing.
By year 3, I was running on fumes. 16-hour days, 7 days a week, for 18 months had taken its toll. I was burning out, but I leant on my team and support network to ensure the business kept thriving despite personal challenges. Not many people know this but I was actually talking about work in my sleep, and was even found “sleep-typing” on occasion! Something needed to change.
Years 4 and 5 have been a game-changer. I've found my groove, and prioritised work-life balance and health, all whilst maintaining the business’ success. I’d always wanted to live and work abroad, so running the business out of Thailand was a real dream come.
I'm so so proud of what I've achieved up to this point and excited to see what's next. Watch this space, Traveller Ltd is just getting started 😏
