Buongiorno!!!
🇮🇹 Queste meravigliose “post boxes” furono introdotte nel 1859 in Grand Bretagna ed erano originariamente di un colore verde scuro.
Purtroppo non durò molto, la gente all’epoca continuava a sbatterci contro ed a fare difficoltà nel trovarle ogni volta che ne aveva bisogno così dopo numerose lamentele nel 1874 furono dipinte di un rosso vivo.
E voi sapete dove si trova la più antica cassetta delle lettere di Londra?💌📮

🇬🇧 These wonderful post boxes were introduced in 1859 in Great Britain and were originally of a dark green color. Unfortunately it did not last long as people at the time continued to bump into it. Due to numerous complaints for its lack of obviousness, it was decided in 1874 to have them all painted as we all know it today - BRIGHT RED. Do you know where the oldest letter box in London is ?💌📮

🇮🇹 Il lago di Regent’s Park un tempo era usato come pista di pattinaggio sul ghiaccio durante gli inverni più freddi ma nel 1867 il ghiaccio si incrinò e 200 persone caddero nell’acqua gelida e profonda. 40 persone annegarono quindi ora il lago è “off limits” a meno che tu non sia una paperella o un pilota di una barchetta a remi.

🇬🇧 Regent’s Park lake was once used as an ice skating rink during the colder winters, but in 1867 the ice cracked and 200 people fell into the freezing and deep water. 40 people drowned, so the lake is now "off limits" unless you're a duck or a rowing boat pilot.
