I have recently just returned from a luxury-filled weekend in Athens, where the water sparkled and the people charmed✨

If I wasn’t too busy soaking up these gorgeous hotels interiors, then I was discussing over brunch how I can bring the best for my clients.

Recently, a lovely family came to me through a client recommendation, and it was their first time booking with Lear Travel.

Their brief? A stress-free, family-friendly all-inclusive with a splash park and a choice of à la carte restaurants. Having stayed at MarBella Corfu with my own family, I knew it would be a great fit.

When I last stayed at Carlisle Bay 6 years ago, we absolutely loved it, but I remember thinking the rooms were ready for a little refresh. So while I was in Antigua recently, I popped back to meet the new GM, Rajiv (who couldn’t have been more lovely), and hear all about the exciting changes happening at the hotel.

Some of the suites have already been beautifully refurbished and as you’ll see from my photos, they’re looking incredible. And of course, Theo (my 10-year-old) took full charge of reviewing the kids’ activities… which got a firm seal of approval!

Visiting properties in person and building relationships with the teams on the ground means I can give my clients honest, up-to-date advice and ensure they’re in the best hands, wherever they’re headed next.

Back on one of our favourite Caribbean islands — less than a year later!
I’m someone who loves returning to a destination I adore, but with each visit I make it a priority to explore new corners, try new hotels, and deepen my product knowledge. This time, Curtain Bluff was on the agenda — and now I understand why guests return year after year (one lovely guest told me it was their 19th stay!).

There’s a warmth to this hotel you can’t quite explain until you’ve experienced it. The staff are genuinely incredible — thoughtful, welcoming, and clearly proud of what they do. Service was faultless, the food was genuinely brilliant with new menus daily, and don’t even get me started on the beach or that cocktail list…

It’s not flashy or overly polished — it’s authentic, comforting, and full of character. And sometimes, that’s exactly what makes a place unforgettable.

This is the kind of knowledge you only gain from first-hand experience and exactly what I use to match each of my clients with the right hotel for them. Thoughtful, tailored, personal. Just as it should be.
