On 27 October 1926, a historic change took place at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah. The practice of separate congregations for different schools of thought came to an end, bringing worshippers together behind one Imam for each prayer.
Before this change, prayers were held separately, one after another. Today, millions of Muslims stand together in the same sacred place, united in worship.

Six years ago, the world witnessed a moment in Makkah that time could never erase. 🕋🤍

Today, we're sharing it again because some moments never fade. They stay in our hearts, reminding us of faith, love, loss, and the unbreakable bond between a heart and the House of Allah.

On 10 October 2020, during the pandemic restrictions, footage captured a lone worshipper performing Tawaf around the Holy Kaaba in an almost-empty Mataaf. Reports identified her as Dr. Azizah al-Batti, who reportedly sought special permission to perform Tawaf for her late husband.

Six years later, this moment still moves hearts and reminds us how precious it is to be invited to Allah's Sacred House.

May Allah call us all to Makkah and accept our duas. Ameen. 🤲

🕋 Did you know that only two corners of the Kaaba are touched during Tawaf according to the Sunnah?

The Kaaba has four corners, but the authentic Sunnah guides pilgrims on which ones to touch.

✔️ The Black Stone: Kiss it or touch it if possible, without harming others. If you cannot reach it, gesture towards it.

✔️ The Yemeni Corner: Touch it if you can do so easily without pushing or crowding others.

❌ Do not gesture towards the Yemeni Corner if you cannot reach it.

❌ Do not touch the other two corners as part of Tawaf.

Worship is not about doing more. It is about following the authentic guidance of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

May ALLAH ﷻ grant us the ability to perform Tawaf according to the Sunnah and accept our Hajj and Umrah. Āmīn.
