There’s something magical about Furong Ancient Town. Perhaps it’s the waterfall thundering through its centre, the traditional wooden buildings clinging to the cliffs, or the way the whole town glows gold as evening falls.

Tucked away in Hunan Province, this 2,000-year-old town offers a glimpse of a slower, more traditional side of China - rich in culture, scenery and atmosphere. 🇨🇳

Mongolia... Wow! What an epic backdrop for the season finale, with the finish as dramatic as the scenery.

🤔 Did you know?

Sand can sing!

At Khongoryn Els in the Gobi Desert, Mongolia's towering dunes - some reaching 300 metres high — emit a deep, resonant hum when the wind passes through. It's a phenomenon so striking the dunes earned their name: the Singing Sands.

One of the great natural wonders of Central Asia. And a place you can actually go.

❤️ Tour of the Week: Best of Mongolia

The Race Across the World is passing through Mongolia this week - and if the footage has done anything, it's made the place look exactly as extraordinary as it is.

Mongolia is one of those destinations that's genuinely difficult to describe until you've been. The scale of it. The silence. The steppe stretching to every horizon. The Gobi Desert, where the Flaming Cliffs of Bayanzag glow deep red at sunset and dinosaur eggs were first unearthed in the 1920s. The sand dunes of Khongoryn Els - some reaching 300 metres high - that hum when the wind moves through them. Ancient Kharkhorin, once the capital of the largest empire the world has ever seen, now quietly watched over by Erdene Zuu, Mongolia's oldest Buddhist monastery.

Our Best of Mongolia tour takes 15 days to cross this country properly. You'll stay in premium ger camps under vast Mongolian skies, meet nomadic families in the Gobi, take part in a mini Naadam festival, and spot wild Przewalski's horses roaming freely in Khustai National Park. Everything is included - flights, meals, accommodation, a dedicated National Es**rt, and all sightseeing.

If the race has put it on your radar, this is how you do it properly.
