Anaa atoll is about to open back up to anglers in October 2022. The covid journey has been a longone for the islanders but the guides are excited and very keen to welcome anglers back. We have had strong interest from anglers who visited pre-covid which is great. The bonefish protection has been ongoing during the covid period and recent data by shows the reproductive capacity of the population is in strong recovery. First time in a while I have spent a day teaching some newcomers to the sport. After a little casting tuition on the grass a great day on the water at with Simon and Den with some nice fish landed.

Baa atoll had plenty of juvenile trevally of various species. I found a few large bluefin and GT’s but couldn’t get them to line up for a decent shot. Look forward to heading back for more exploration later this year.

Stumbled across this Unicorn fish on a clear white sand flat in the Maldives yesterday. Have cast at these before for no response but this one chased the shrimp pattern and ate. Pretty stoked with that!
