The Prophet ﷺ said,

“… and the reward of Hajj Mabrur (the one accepted by Allah) is nothing except Paradise.” [Sahih Bukhari - 1773]

Amongst the conditions of Hajj Al Mabrur are :

1 . The Hajj must be done sincerely for the sake of Allah. Free from Riya (showing off) and any worldly acknowledgement.

2. It is done following the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.

3. It must be from Halal money.

4. And one must avoid intimacy, sins and evil deeds, and fighting and arguing.

And Allah Knows best.

May Allah grant us the Tawfeeque of an accepted Hajj and grant us to worship Him with sincerity.

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) made a special dua for those who shave their heads, supplicating:
“O Allah! Forgive those who get their heads shaved.” The companions asked, “And those who get their hair cut short?” He (SAW) repeated his prayer for those who shaved three times before including those who trimmed.
(Bukhari & Muslim)

You could learn every rule of Umrah,
Understand every ritual,
And get your umrah right,

Yet still miss out on so much of your journey.

And that is from not knowing the Seerah.

Because Seerah changes what you see.

Standing in front of the Kaa’ba fills you with so much humility when you realize you’re at the same spot,

Where the Prophet ﷺ stood with power and ability, but still forgave everyone who persecuted him for years and even drove him out of his home.

Standing at Uhud, knowing the losses, the sacrifices and what the Muslims endured here, makes the sight of the mountain feel more heavy infront of you.

Standing before the resting places of Abu Bakr (RA) and Umar (RA), knowing how they stood by the Prophet ﷺ and how much they strived for this faith, will put a sincerity in that salam you give.

Without knowing these stories, you may see the places, take the pictures and return home.

But with the Seerah, the journey becomes far more personal.

Makkah and Madinah stop feeling like destinations for a holiday and start feeling like a return to a history, and a family you have always belonged to.

May Allah allow us to visit these blessed places sincere appreciation and return home changed by what we have learned. 🤍

In an authentic hadith recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari (1325), the Prophet ﷺ explained that whoever offers the Janazah prayer receives one Qirat of reward.

And whoever remains until the burial is completed receives two Qirats.

And when the Companions asked what a Qirat was, the Prophet ﷺ explained that each Qirat is comparable in size to Mount Uhud.

The next time you’re in the Haram, consider giving yourself those extra few minutes.

A little patience could bring a reward beyond what we can imagine.

May Allah allow us to recognise these opportunities and never miss out on the good He has placed before us. Ameen.
