Please be advised that, with immediate effect, updated safety requirements regarding the carriage and use of power banks on board aircraft have been implemented in accordance with LCAA Policy Letter No. 001/2026 and applicable ICAO and IATA requirements.
These measures have been introduced in response to the increasing number of lithium battery incidents worldwide, which present significant aviation safety risks, including fire, smoke emission, thermal runaway, overheating, and potential aircraft diversions.
Power Bank Requirements
Permitted
Each passenger may carry a maximum of two (2) power banks.
Power banks must be carried in cabin baggage only and stored under the seat in front or in another designated storage location, such as the seat-back pocket.
Power banks must be protected against damage and short circuits.
Prohibited
Charging power banks on board the aircraft.
Using power banks to charge mobile phones, tablets, laptops, or any other electronic devices during the flight.
Carrying damaged, swollen, cracked, leaking, overheated, or otherwise defective power banks.
Carrying more than the permitted quantity of power banks.
