Maybe 2026 is the year you give group travel and Namibia a go?

Here are 5 reasons to consider Namibia as a group travel experience, especially if you’re a solo traveller:

1️⃣ It’s vast. Really vast. Long drives and remote landscapes feel a lot more fun when you’ve got people to share them with.

2️⃣ Logistics here aren’t light. 4x4 vehicles, distances between stops, national parks, conservancies… doing it as a group means everything’s handled.

3️⃣ Doing Namibia solo means hiring a 4x4 just for yourself. Add camps, lodges, fuel, food and activities and suddenly the numbers climb fast. Sharing the load with a group makes the whole experience far more manageable and a fraction of the price.

4️⃣ Driving hundreds of kilometres in a foreign country where you might not see another vehicle for hours can feel daunting. We do it together, with expert guides who know these roads inside out.

5️⃣ You get the independence of travelling solo without actually being on your own. The freedom is still there, you’ve just got backup.

Namibia is incredible.
It’s just a lot easier and a lot more fun when you don’t do it alone.

Here’s something wild.

Namibia 🇳🇦 is the second least densely populated country in the world. Only Mongolia has fewer people per square kilometre. Which explains a lot.

The long drives where you don’t pass another car.
The silence that feels almost exaggerated.
The way the landscape just keeps going.

It’s not empty in a boring way.
It’s empty in a “we’ve got the whole place to ourselves” kind of way.
And once you experience that kind of space, it’s hard to go back to crowded.

One of the most eye opening parts of our 12 day journey through Namibia 🇳🇦

Spending time learning about the Damara people and their deep roots in this landscape. Long before national parks, lodges or 4x4 tracks, these lands were home to communities who understood the terrain in ways most of us never will.

Namibia isn’t just ancient because of its rocks and deserts.
It’s ancient because of the people who shaped it too.

If you’ve noticed that most animals in Etosha National Park (Namibia 🇳🇦) look a bit… grey, you’re not wrong.

Between the dust, the salt pans and the dry ground, everything out here ends up coated in the same colour. Rolling in it helps with heat, parasites and blending in, so it actually makes a lot of sense.

Nothing flashy. Nothing extra.
Just animals perfectly suited to this landscape.
Etosha does subtle very well.

We pulled over on the side of the road in Namibia and instantly forgot why we’d stopped.
Shiny, strange rocks under our feet. Hills in the distance catching the light like they were meant to be looked at.

Namibia is one of the most mineral rich countries in the world and also one of the oldest, geologically speaking. Some of what you see here is billions of years old, just out in the open like it’s nothing.
No signs, no barriers, no explanations. Just ancient earth, endless space and that constant reminder of how small you are.

This is why travelling here feels different.

How often do you meet a rhino that just wants to scratch his horn on the side of your car? 😆
Totally normal behaviour by the way. Their horns grow constantly, so a good scratch helps wear it down and get rid of mud and parasites. We just happened to be the scratching post.
