Know your Bisannes 🧐 The new L'Étape du Tour de France route takes on the Montée de Bisanne, NOT the Signal de Bisanne ❌

📍 To the Montée junction:
📏 12.4 km
📈 8.2% average
⛰️ About 1,050 m of climbing

📡 The Etape skips the final, steepest 2 km to the Signal, a dead end road up to the radio mast. Don't celebrate too early though 😬 This climb gives you very little respite and gets progressively tougher the higher you go 📈🔥

🎙️😤 NEW ETAPE DU TOUR EPISODE LIVE NOW 😤🎙️

We have previewed the L'Étape du Tour de France route and we think the toughest climb is going to be the second half of the Col du Pré. You will be deep into the route by the time you take it on and it features relentless gradients at the top.

📏 12.2 km
⛰️ Around 970 m of climbing
📈 About 7.9% average
⚡ Max around 11.4%

✌️ It's a climb of two halves. Leaving Beaufort towards Arêches, the gradients are kind, with even a flat and a descent on the approach 😌 Then out of Arêches it kicks straight to around 9% for about 7 km, with no respite 🥵

💙 The pay off? Just over the top, Lac de Roselend glows turquoise a hundred metres below.

First up, one of the toughest climb on the route, the Col de la Colombière 😤

🧠 Think of it as two climbs in one. Ride the bottom half like a warm up, because the real climb begins at Le Reposoir. Those last 3 km will take everything you've saved 🔥 so make sure you've saved something.

NEW EPISODE 🎙️ Mike Cotty on Where We Ride

You've heard of the Col du Tourmalet. But have you ever ridden the Pic du Midi above it?

When we asked for his favourite climb, he didn't pick the Stelvio or the Galibier. He picked the road that keeps going when the Tourmalet stops.

From the top of the Tourmalet, the tarmac gives way to a rough gravel track that climbs higher still, past Lac d'Oncet and up towards the observatory perched on the Pic du Midi. Fewer riders, bigger views and a whole new level of Pyrenean.
