Happy 140th birthday Sir Gilbert Scott! 🥳🎉 Google unveiled a doodle today, created by UK-based artist Jin Zhang.

Born into a family of architects, young Gilbert was noted for his blending of Gothic tradition with modernism, making what might otherwise have been functionally designed buildings into popular landmarks.

Sir Gilbert often cycled through the English countryside and found his love for architecture by studying the designs of churches and buildings along his route. His mum played an active role in nurturing his passion, often encouraging him to sketch buildings such as Battle Abbey, Brede Place and Etchingham Church.

One of his most notable works is of course the red phone boxes! He was one of three architects invited by the Royal Fine Arts Commission to submit designs for new telephone kiosks. His design was in the classical style with a mausoleum style dome. It was the chosen design and was put into production in cast iron as the general post office's "Kiosk no. 2" or "K2".

He continued to work on multiple projects until his death aged 79. Rest in peace Sir Gilbert and thank you for your beautiful designs.

This is Sligachan Bridge on the Isle of Skye, Scotland!

⛰ Skye is the largest island in Scotland's Inner Hebrides, and it's dominated by the Cuillan mountains - a rocky range that produces the breathtaking views in this video.

It's a unique island and if you're very lucky, you can even see the northern lights during a winter visit ✨

🦌 Did you know that you can also spot red deer?

The island has some of the most interesting wildlife in Great Britain - there's sea eagles, goldern eagles, pine martens, dolphins and even whales.

Do you wish that you could ? Have we convinced you to seek out Skye in your next travel experience?

Feeling chilly? Here's a to shake off that autumnal chill 🍂

This is Craigievar Castle. It sits amongst the foothills of the Grampian Mountains in a pink splendour. Can you imagine seeing it's turrets in your favourite fairytale? 🏰

This castle was once a home and it was owned by the Forbes family for 350 years! It's first owner, Patrick Forbes, was nicknamed 'W***y the Merchant' - a reference to how Forbes earned the wealth that led him to commissioning his own castle as a home in 1610.

You can find Craigiever Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. If you're searching for travel inspiration, you may have found it here...

Good evening, Teleporters! ✨✨

It's been rainy across Great Britain this week (typical autumnal weather 🎃), so we're thinking back to brighter days...and the lovely friends that we me made on our summer travels.

Our friends in these photos are from the gorgeous county of Fife. Fife is a beautiful place - just like it's feline inhabitants 🐈

Here’s a beautiful shot of the Duncansby Stacks to make your Saturday a little brighter✨

The location also features the nearby Duncansby Head, a lighthouse that marks the most northeasterly spot of Britain.

Although the trek here may be long, you’ll probably spot numerous puffins that’ll keep you company.

Comment below if you’ve had the chance to see the glorious Duncansby Stacks in person!
