Good Omens Tours of London Showing fellow fans around the GO London filming locations since 2020 - wheelchair accessible tours

Whilst not a Good Omens filming location, we do go past the British Library at the start of the tour - a copy of every book/publication ever published in the UK is held here in its vast underground archives, and the overflow archives up in Boston Spa in North Yorkshire.

Anyone is able to view any item in the collection, you reserve it online and are given a date and time when you can view it within the library. They'll arrange for it to be transported down from Yorkshire if it's not one held in the vaults.

The underground vaults themselves are controlled by a complex robotic system which can retrieve and organise books to help the librarians.

It's not just books but newspapers, magazines, trade journals, government pamphlets etc. And whilst self-published book authors don't *have* to submit a copy, they can choose to, and the British Library will accept it and add it to the archive.

Fun fact - I know that there are also some Good Omens fan zines in there which the creators chose to submit! Which is an odd thought.

This is something I mention on the tour as we go along - the clean air act and how most of London was completely black with soot for centuries, until open coal and wood fires were outlawed in the 1950s after smog pollution affected hundreds of thousands of people terminally, and the government finally said enough was enough.

After this, the big clean up began, and here is some newly released BBC footage from that era showing St. Paul's Cathedral undergoing its first ever big clean up which removed INCHES thick build-up of black soot which had been accumulating since the moment it was built.

Unfortunately continued pollution from vehicles meant it had to be cleaned again in the 1970s, but since gradually tightening congestion efforts since then, London has become cleaner and cleaner over the years, and now the cleaned buildings are mostly staying that way.

But look up, and occasionally you can still spot the odd blackened building which never got cleaned since the 1950s clean air act, and they still show evidence of the city's past.

"Even the man who built it, Sir Christopher Wren, never saw it looking quite so s***k and span."By the time it was finished in 1710, St Paul's Cathedral was ...

One of my favourite bits of trivia. I don’t have his book yet but I did notice an illustration that covers another curiosity that I talk about on the tour as we go between filming locations. It’s to do with WWI, WWII, and railings.

IT HAPPENED AGAIN! S2 episode 1 of Slow Horses, in Soho, and BAM: Berwick (Whickber) street! 🤣

Not an actual filming location but it’s on the tour as Berwick street was the inspiration for Whickber Street, and Maggie’s record shop clone is also on here.

I've become so familiar with the Good Omens filming locations that just a split second of this very first image was enough to set off my internal alarm bells, recognising it instantly as Carlton House Steps, heading from Carlton Terrace down to the Mall and St. James's Park, sure enough, after getting the screen grab from TV spy show "Slow Horses", I let it run on and got the next few frames as well which confirmed it.

These are the steps seen in season 1, episode 1 of Good Omens (and here in the last episode of Season 1 of Slow Horses). It's where Crowley and Aziraphale walk up the steps together, while Crowley tries to persuade Aziraphale to help him avert armageddon. They alight at the top and Crowley says "well let's do lunch" - then the Bentley's wheel clamp explodes.

The last image, whilst not Good Omens, is where I start every tour - this is from an old BBC documentary I saw on youtube today "1966 is the British class system changing? / Man alive / voice of the people / BBC archive".

Again, the first split second was all it took to recognise the iconic gothic revival architecture of the St. Pancras Hotel, outside King's Cross St. Pancras railway stations.

Have you spotted Good Omens filming locations in other films and TV series? If you have share them below!

When I say how London cabbies have to train for YEARS to learn central London streets by heart, thus us stay I mean. And yes they DO still test them thus way! Several places he lists are on the tour route, including of course Berwick street (“Whickber street” in Good Omens).

Started watching a tv series called “black doves” and look what I spotted! Where the fabulous Mr. Fell performed on the West End stage!

The Windmill theatre is included on the tour, although as I do the tours during the day, it’s not lit up like this.

It’s been two weeks! So aside from being given an unexpected awesome spontaneous hug by Rob Wilkins, have some more adventures from Crochet Crowley at The Ineffable Con August 2025.

My other half Matt cosplayed as Mr. Brown. He was given some Christmas lights socks by Bethany & Rachael the organisers, and I did my wheelchair Bentley again.

I gave Rob some of my new art cards of the Bentley in front of a snowy South Downs cottage, and he very kindly signed a print of the same art to donate to TIC7 raffle in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK in memory of Sir Terry Pratchett.

Crochet Crowley met a South Downs cottage cosplay, some giant plushie snakes, his long lost twin brother, a tortoise, and some real snakes including one named “Pratchett.”

Finally, Crochet Crowley also got to meet Rob too, and apparently Rob is a big fan of crochet fan art!
