"We just can't afford it."

I hear it often, and I understand it completely. So can I gently offer another way of looking at it when the quotes someone else has provided, are just a little too much. 💛

Sometimes it genuinely isn't the right year, and I'll always tell you honestly if that's the case. I've talked families out of trips before now or encouraged them to put trips off for a year or so, and I'd do it again... if i think it isn't going to meet your expectations.

But often it isn't that it can't be done.

It's that nobody's ever shown them how. 👇

And can I be really honest with you about something? 🙏

Offsite is not the poor relation. Whether it's Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney World in Florida, or Disneyland in California, I stay offsite myself sometimes when I visit, and I have the most magical time. If the top-tier Disney hotel isn't within your means, that does NOT mean you can't have an absolutely wonderful trip. Hand on heart, I promise you that. ✨

You'll see a lot of people pushing the upgrades, the add-ons, the this and the that. That's not me. My job is finding what's genuinely right for your family, not the most expensive version of it.

Because Disney, wherever in the world you're headed, can absolutely be done without spending a fortune. 💛 You do not need to stay in a Deluxe resort to be able to experience the magic. Flat out.

That's my actual job. Not talking anybody into anything. Looking at what's really possible for your family and telling you the truth about it, including when the truth is "not this year."

"Bonni. We landed last night, which I know you knew - were you tracking our flight as your welcome to the USA come through literally 30seconds after we landed.... I've been trying to find the words since we got to the hotel.

I booked this with you nine months ago. And for nine months it's been the thing we have all talked about as a family. The countdown on the fridge. The outfits planned. The park map studied until Liam could draw it from memory. The late night tiktoks and the chats with you about snacks and itinerary planning...

And now we're here.

And it's more than I thought it would be. Which I didn't think was possible, given how much I'd thought about it, and you thought about it with us!

Let me introduce you to the boldest Disney park of the lot. Shanghai Disney Resort. 🏯

Disney threw absolutely everything at this one, and my word does it show.

🏰 The Enchanted Storybook Castle. The largest and tallest castle in any Disney park on earth, and you can walk inside this one
🏍️ TRON Lightcycle Power Run. This is the original. Shanghai had it first, and Florida built their version years later
🦊 A whole Zootopia land, the first of its kind anywhere in the world
🏴‍☠️ Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure. Widely called the most technically spectacular dark ride Disney has ever built. Your boat spins, slides and glides through the whole thing

And all of it wrapped up in beautiful, uniquely Chinese details you will find nowhere else. ✨

Here's the part that surprises my families. Once you land, it's often gentler on the wallet than Florida. Tickets cost less. Food in the parks costs a great deal less. It's the flights that carry the cost, and those can be planned for well in advance.

This is the park for the family who wants the wow turned all the way up. The biggest, the newest, the most spectacular.

And it's still open field. Almost nobody is doing it, which is exactly what makes it unforgettable.

The free dining window closes 4 November, and I've got families booking every week now. This one's genuinely time limited, and I'd rather tell you in August than in October.

🎃 DLP HALLOWEEN 2026
Still availability outside the half term week itself. The families booking now have October sorted before the school shoes even get bought.

🚢 UK CRUISE SAILINGS 2027
School holiday dates are getting properly limited. Whoever leaves this until September will be choosing from what's left rather than what's best.

The question I get asked most about the new Disneyland Paris meal plans: is it actually worth it?

Right. Let's do the sums properly. 🧮

Take a family of four. Two adults, two children. Essential plan, one meal a night.

That's roughly €32 an adult and €16 a child, per night. So about €96 a night for the four of you. A proper sit down meal, and no doing arithmetic at the table while everyone's hungry.

Now try eating out in the parks without a plan. You'll frequently spend more than that, with considerably more faff. 💷

WHERE A PLAN WINS 👇

✅ No nasty surprises halfway through the week
✅ And you end up eating in places you'd probably never have picked

People assume I just wing my own family holidays. The opposite is true. 📋

Here's exactly how I've planned ours, using the same process I use for yours 👇

🏰 Eight nights at Pop Century for the Walt Disney World half. Cheerful, brilliant value, and the Skyliner right on the doorstep. Have placed our room requests today and made sure we are set up for the best location.
🚄 The Brightline train down to Miami, because it's a genuinely lovely way to do that leg. (yeah we could have flew, but it's cheaper, allows for more sightseeing and is genuinely a lovely way to get down the coast) with 1 night in a Marina hotel so we can see the ship coming in - with those perks of Disney Transportation, and early boarding.. WIN!
🚢 We then board the Disney Destiny, out to Castaway Cay and Disney's newest island, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
✈️ Premium seats for the long flights in both directions, because tired adults are no fun for anybody, least of all themselves.

Every bit of it thought through, in the right order, so the trip flows instead of fighting me. 💛

And notice what I picked. Not the most expensive resort. The right one, with the transport that suits how we'll actually use the days.

That's exactly what I do for my families. The difference between a good holiday and an effortless one is almost never the budget. It's the order you do things in, and ensuring you dont overspend if its unnecessary.
