OLIVER’S HOME OF THE WEEK | Chalet Icon

Courchevel might be synonymous with winter, but the mountains have two very different seasons worth travelling for. Snow-covered pistes and fireside evenings for the next few months; green valleys, alpine lakes and long days outdoors come summer.

Chalet Icon is made for both. Tucked into Courchevel 1550, with the nearest piste just 150 metres away, it puts the Three Valleys within very easy reach when the snow arrives. Back at the chalet, there’s an indoor heated pool, hammam, sauna, outdoor hot tub and home cinema waiting for the post-ski hours.

There’s plenty of room to bring everyone, too. Eight bedrooms sleep up to 15, including a family suite with its own bunk room for four, while the main living spaces pair mountain views with a roaring fireplace and terraces looking out across the Alps. A chalet manager and concierge are on hand throughout your stay, with catering and a private driver included during certain winter weeks.

Winter dates are already calling, but we wouldn’t overlook Courchevel once the skis are packed away. Chalet Icon opens again for July and August, when days can be spent hiking, cycling, climbing and swimming in mountain lakes before coming home to the terrace. Same chalet, very different Alps.

HOW TO TURN 24 DAYS OF ANNUAL LEAVE INTO 57 DAYS OFF IN 2027 👀

24 days of annual leave. 57 days out of the office. Quite a lot of time for a villa holiday when you look at it like that.

If you’re planning your 2027 holidays, save this. By booking strategically around the 2027 bank holidays, you can stretch your annual leave considerably further.

Anyone else suddenly looking at their friends a little differently over breakfast? 👀

With Traitors fever very much back, we’ve been thinking about what it takes to host your own Traitors-inspired getaway. The answer? A grand house, a long dining table and a group of people who claim they can be trusted.

So, naturally, we’ve found the homes for it.

France has always been a big part of the Oliver’s Travels story. 🇫🇷

In fact, it’s where it all began. Back in 2003, our founders, Oli and Ravi, spent a week with friends in a crumbling château in the Dordogne: beautiful weather, plenty of w**e and an entire château to call their own. Somewhere during that week, the beginnings of Oliver’s Travels took shape.

More than two decades later, France remains one of our biggest destinations – and our collection has spread far beyond the château.

OLIVER'S HOME OF THE WEEK | Water Lily House

Some houses have a lovely garden. Water Lily House has 20 acres of them – and they’re famous in their own right.

Just outside Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, this old Provençal mas sits among extraordinary landscaped grounds, divided into gardens with their own distinct character. Follow lavender paths to the tennis court, swim beneath palms in the African Garden, find a quiet corner by the pond or settle beneath the trees for lunch around the great marble table. There are two pools, too, plus a kitchen garden, chickens and more than enough space for younger guests to disappear off and play.

The house itself sleeps up to 16 adults and two children across ten bedrooms, with fireplaces, beams, a library, La Cornue kitchen and the sort of rooms that still feel unmistakably Provençal. And when you do eventually leave the gardens, Saint-Rémy is 13km away, with Avignon, Les Baux-de-Provence and L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue all within easy reach.

In the turquoise Ionian, just off the coast of Albania, lies Greece’s greenest island. Stand at the north-west of the peninsula at Paleokastritsa, and you'll see the whole landscape open before you. Lush, green hills rise from every angle, their cypress trees fringing the rocky bay out into endless azure, the old monastery above you.

Anyone who has been to Corfu will attest to the compelling quality of the island, the magic of its verdant nature and labyrinthine alleys.

Though it is not especially large – covering just under 600 square kilometres – Corfu manages to pack in ancient ruins, Venetian architecture, mountain villages, centuries-old churches and some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, making the prospect of a seven-day trip already feel somewhat predicated on compromise.
