Follow in the footsteps of William the Conqueror on our brand-new 6-day self-guided 1066 Country Walk, from Pevensey Castle to Battle Abbey and on to medieval Rye. 31 miles of rolling farmland, ancient woodland, village pubs and oast houses, just two hours from London.

Launching for the Year of the Normans 2027, 1,000 years since William's birth, and celebrating the display of the Bayeux Tapestry in the UK for the very first time until July 2027.
See the tapestry in person at the British Museum in London, then catch a short train to Walk the 1066 Trail and experience the history firsthand.

We're delighted that Lonely Planet has featured the beautiful St Cuthbert's Way long-distance walk in its Best in Travel 2027 list, and we can see why it's made the cut - it's a personal favourite trail. Weaving through the Border Country from Scotland to England, it follows in the footsteps of a 7th century monk on his way to become bishop of Lindisfarne Island, and passes through some delightful countryside such as the Eildon Hills and the Cheviot Hills, the dramatic coastal landscapes of Northumberland, packed with history and the most castles of any of England's counties, before making the well-timed journey along the causeway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
Bookings are now open to walk the route self-guided in 2027, with an Early Bird Sale on until October.
