TRAVEL TIPS
Many of you may be heading off on a business trip or vacation now is the time to consider some things before you leave home (Travel Tips)
Passports - Many of us don't give one thought to the expiry date on our passport until the very last moment, that said you may glance at the expiry date and see that it is still valid. Many countries now have a minimum expiry date and this could be 6 months before the expiry date. If you are travelling to a non-EU country then get your TMC or travel agent to check this before you travel
Contact Details - When travelling abroad leave a list of hotel contact details behind with a relative or a member of staff just in case there is an emergency at home or work. Please remember that some networks overseas are not as reliable as the UK so having a contact number for a hotel you are staying at is useful in any event.
Visa's - If you are travelling to a far-flung destination make sure you check if a visa is required as a return journey can be very lonely if not costly. Get your TMC or travel agent to check this for you
Emergency Travel Bag - The emergency travel bag can be stowed in your hold luggage or in cabin luggage. Always pack emergency med kits, just in case you get sick, remember some countries offer very basic medical supplies so having your own at hand can be very helpful, also pack a spare cheap mobile phone that you can use if your main mobile is lost or stolen, most of the time you may not require it but if you are a frequent traveller in a remote destination will this become very valuable should you lose your main mobile phone
Online Check-In - Many airlines let you check-in online, consider checking in as this will save you time the hassle when you arrive at the airport, also if your flight is cancelled are you protected as you are already on the airline's system. If you have a travel agent or TMC why not ask them to check you in
