Last year, 6th of February Turkey was struck by a devastating earthquake, leaving behind profound loss and grief. Among those affected were many friends and colleagues whose absence is deeply felt. Their memory remains a testament to resilience and solidarity as we strive to rebuild and honor their lives.
In the silence of our hearts, let us gather, Underneath the vast embrace of the sky.
To remember those souls lost in the quake’s tether, In Hatay, Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Maras, where hearts sigh.
Like autumn leaves, they departed from our sight, Their essence still lingering in the air we breathe.
In the tremors of memory, they find their flight, In our thoughts, their stories will forever seethe.
Let us hold hands, under the canopy of stars, And weave prayers like threads, binding us tight.
For those who sleep beneath the earth’s scars,
Their spirits soar in the gentle night.
