A week ago we were still in jackets and jumpers and now it’s shorts and T-shirts! Spring has definitely come to London, quite abruptly!

It can be quiet uncomfortable walking around in the heat so if you do join one our tours, rest assured we stand in the shade whenever we can, and stop to offer water fill ups along the way!

This weeks tours:
Wednesday 27th - 2pm Art
Friday 29th - 2pm East End
Saturday 30th - 10am Westminster

Today is the London Local Elections - polling stations are open until 10pm!

Here are some of our guests at the plaque to East London Councillor Miriam Moses, who became the first female Mayor of Stepney in 1931 but had served on the council for 10 years before that!

Miriam dedicated her life to improving the area and was fondly remembered on ‘This is Your Life’ in 1958 - you can learn more about this incredible local hero on our Working Women of the East End tour

Eight years ago today we were in Parliament Square watching the memorial of Millicent Garrett Fawcett being unveiled!

Eight years later we are still taking groups to the memorial and pointing out the importance of representation of women in public spaces.

The memorial isn’t just for Millicent but also contains photographs and names of many women and some men, who played a pivotal role in the long fight for women to gain the vote in the UK.

Bookings are open for our Women of Westminster tour throughout spring and summer!

On this day in 1842 painter Elisabeth Louise Vigee Le Brun died in Paris at the age of 86 🎨

She lived an incredible life painting for many European courts while spending 12 years in exile from France, and also while travelling later in her life including to London

We talk about her life as a prolific artist on our Women in Art tour at the National Gallery, currently they have two of her paintings on display including the self-portrait shown here

Our next art tour is running on Thursday at 10am, but there is plenty of opportunity to join us to learn about female painters in the National Gallery London
