Hello everyone - please sign up to our petition to demand a fair deal for families in 2013! Sign up if you are feeling a squeeze on your income, you've experienced bad or overcrowded housing, or you believe in ending child poverty. Every signature counts!

Families with children are facing an unprecedented squeeze as a result of the rising cost of necessities like food, petrol and childcare and reductions in benefits and tax credits, while pensioners have been protected from many austerity measures and now benefit from a pensions ‘triple lock’.

Are your policies and procedures up to date for the revised EYFS?

If you haven't already updated your policies and procedures inline with the revised EYFS then now is the time to do so. 4Children's 'Getting it Right' policies and procedures resource pack reflects the priorities and imperatives of the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and the requirements for the Ofsted Childcare Register.

This pack will help you to develop a comprehensive set of policies and procedures as the basis for running your setting and meeting both your legal requirements and the complex needs of the children and families in your local community.

The Getting it Right policies and procedures resource pack reflects the priorities and imperatives of the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and the requirements for the Ofsted Childcare Register.

4Children has today launched it's Mayoral Manifesto ahead of next week's vote for London mayor! In it we ask the Mayoral candidates to respond to our 10 family friendly pledges and rate their responses.

The Green Party come in first place with an excellent 14/20, closely followed by Siobhan Benita on 12/20, but Boris Johnson limps into an embarassing fourth with 7/20 and Ken Livingstone comes a mediocre third with 10/20.

On Monday 4Children published new research revealing the extent of conflict and violence in Britain’s families.

4Children’s groundbreaking report, The Enemy Within, presents the full picture of conflict and violence within families. The report reveals the way in which children and parents can be both victims and perpetrators of family conflict – with the evidence suggesting that violence is more widespread within the family than was perhaps previously thought.

The Enemy Within is the third report published as part of 4Children’s Give Me Strength campaign calling for a new approach to strengthening support for the most vulnerable families to prevent crisis developing.

Give Me Strength is a national campaign, run by charity 4Children, which demands more help for families to avert crises.
