In this video, we're looking at the theories as to who the lady named Ælfgyva could possibly be? Is she the topic of some scandalous secret that has been lost to time? Or could it be something else?
We also take a look at one of the main ways we can tell that the Bayeux Tapestry was actually an English creation, that literate people at the time would have noticed straight away.

In this video, we're looking at the possibility that we may have lost the last panels that originally completed the Bayeux Tapestry. When it was rediscovered in the 1800's, the end was already gone, so no one knows what happened to it or what it contained.

Or was the Bayeux Tapestry never finished in the first place?

In this video, we are looking at the controversial scene that is Harold being crowned after the death of Edward the Confessor. Do you think that Harold took the throne due to his own selfish ambitions, or do you think there was more to it than that?

While there are many sources from the time that record this event, not one can be seen as not having it's own agenda, the Bayeux Tapestry included. Unfortunately we will never know the true events, but we can still draw our own conclusions from what has been left behind.

Said to be the oldest church in the City of London, All Hallows by the Tower is an absolute must visit for those wanting to get closer to the hidden layers of London's ancient history.

In this video, we look at the secret messages that are shown int he borders of the Bayeux Tapestry and what they could mean. Were they put there by the English embroiderers as a dig at the Normans, or were they added digs by the Normans to further bad mouth Harold?

Again the actual meaning behind a lot of the symbolism in the piece has been lost to time, but it makes it no less fun to interpret it for yourself!
