While quarantining due to looking like a plague victim myself (chicken pox at 40? Seriously it’s no joke!!!) I managed to finish this absolute masterpiece!

Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman is set in France, in the year 1348: the year of the Black Death and the Hundred Years War. A year to those that lived it, I’m sure really felt like the end of the world!

This book takes that theme and just runs with it! The imagery of scenes that feel like they come direct from the Book of Revelation is such a treat as well as the subtlety and slow burn of the threat of horror that made this book impossible to put down!

The images I have of specific scenes and the affection felt for these characters will stay with me for an incredibly long time!

Have you read it yet?

Welcome to my series creating 30 posts to celebrate 30 years of the franchise Tomb Raider

For this video we are looking at traps in gaming vs how actual ancient tombs protected themselves from looters.

What's your favourite trap in Tomb Raider?

Hi everyone! Long time no speak! How are we all doing?

So I’ve been ridiculously busy the last few days and I’ve made some big decisions regarding my home ed classes going forward…

To make my free sessions as high quality, stable, and easy to access as possible, I’m officially moving away from Facebook Live. No more clunky feeds or missing out because of stupid social media algorithms!

This Friday at 10AM, I’ll be going live on YouTube for the grand finale of my Battle of Hastings series
We’ll be diving into the immediate aftermath of the battle, the cultural shift it created, and exploring what England (and beyond) might look like today if King Harold had won.

To make life easier, I’ve set up a strictly private, anonymous WhatsApp Announcement Group. No one in the group can see your name or phone number but me. It means you stay anonymous but will actually be notified of when my next class or tour is happening.

Just scan the QR code in the image, or tap the link in my bio to jump straight in!

See you on YouTube Friday morning! 👀

The Anglo Saxon King who brought about the end of the Anglo Saxon Era due to a series of poor decisions. History remembers Æthelred in a bad light, today we look at why

Do you think Æthelred deserves his bad rep? Let me know in the comments

It’s never simple is it?!

It seems that Facebook doesn’t like me being successful and so the more members I have in the group, the less likely my posts will be seen… unless I pay!

My confidence has taken a huge knock lately with less and less people interacting or attending virtual classes as well as booking onto the Home Ed tours. However, if it’s due to the fact that no one is actually aware when they’re happening, then I think it’s time to rethink my strategy for getting my tours out there and noticed!

I would hate to ditch the group as I’ve worked so hard on it and I think we have a lovely community but that community isn’t able to thrive when Facebook is choking my reach! 😕

Any ideas would be welcome!

Calling all London & Virtual Home Educators!

I’m so excited to finally release the dates for the brand-new tours of London that I will be debuting in just a few weeks!

On these tours, we won't just be looking at one London, we'll be uncovering two! We will explore the vibrant Saxon settlement that gave us Covent Garden, and the abandoned Roman city they repurposed.

Come walk in the footsteps of Anglo-Saxon Londoners as we uncover the ghost towns that lay almost forgotten underneath our feet!

How to Join the Adventure:

In-Person London Tours: Small, exclusive groups designed specifically for home-educated kids to get hands-on with history.

Interactive Virtual Tour: If you can’t make it to London, a fully interactive online version will be available so your young historians don't miss out on the magic!

Comment "LONDON" below (or tag a fellow home-edder who loves history!) and I will DM you the exclusive dates and booking details!
