Charles Dickens is one of the most famous authors of the Victorian era. Dickens is renowned for the vivid characters and masterful plots that populate his 15 novels and many short stories. šŸ“š

From humble beginnings in Portsmouth, Dickens went on to capture the imagination of Victorian England, often performing his own stories on stage to enraputured audiences. šŸŽ

Dickens died on this day in 1870 at Gads Hill Place, his country home in Kent. He was 58 years old. Despite the changing streetscapes of London in the years since the author's passing, many spots that feature in his novels can still be explored today. Whether you are seeking out Scrooge or looking for Little Dorrit can help bring Dickensian London to life!
