All beaches along Jamaica’s coastline should be FREE and accessible for natives and locals to enjoy. Wakey wakey, it’s 2026 and the benefits from tourism aren’t being seen where it’s seriously needed.

People who work within the services industry that keeps tourism alive and ticking around the clock are still being paid in peanuts and shirt buttons - so what is the benefit of more hotels and resorts anyway? we know the answer and don’t need it on a postcard.

Side note: can’t quite believe I’m writing this after saying I’d never return - looks like my travel DNA is calling. An opportunity is knocking and I’ll (unexpectedly) be back into the fold at some point.

The colourful scenes depicted by the beach and along the ocean, the music and joys, waving green palm/leaves and flags hoisted in the air is vividly breathtaking. Love posts like this especially those celebratory of our indigenous peoples throughout the diaspora and how Francesca states “exiled, but never enslaved” because not only is this historically true - every. single. detail. matters.
