Before the Camera Starts

Sometimes, the best stories begin before you press the record button.

My first day out exploring Fundão was not just about filming. It was about discovering the town through the eyes of someone who knows it, taking in the streets, the little corners, the history, and the everyday life that you might easily miss when you are simply passing through.

I was fortunate to have a friend showing me around Fundão. They preferred not to appear in the photos or videos, and I completely respect that. But their presence made this first exploration even more meaningful.

Before we started the long filming journey, we had to make one important stop: Almma Café. A good breakfast, a little conversation, and then... it was time to begin.

Some places don’t just give you beautiful views… they give you a feeling you didn’t expect.

Standing at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, I honestly thought it would just be another travel stop in Portugal. But something about the endless Atlantic Ocean, the strong wind, and the silence between the cliffs hit differently.

Maybe it was the reminder that the world is bigger than our worries.
Maybe it was the feeling of reaching a place where “the land ends and the sea begins.”

Travel does that sometimes.
It changes you quietly.

You stood at the corner, camera half-raised, not because you didn’t know what to capture, but because everything felt worth capturing.

Behind you, the quiet hum of life moving forward. Trams sliding through narrow roads. A stranger laughing into a phone call. A green light blinking, telling someone, somewhere, it’s their turn to move.

And in front of you, buildings that have seen more than most people ever will. Faded but standing. Worn but dignified. Like they’ve made peace with time instead of fighting it.
