The Gaucho Piccadilly, an Argentinian restaurant in Swallow Street.

The building was once the site of the Martinez Spanish Restaurant, the first Spanish restaurant in London, established in 1923. Three years after opening, the owner of the restaurant, Antonio Martinez, received a Royal appointment from his regular client, King Alfonso XIII. Historic tiles, which were a gift from the King, can still be seen lining the walls of the main dining space at Gaucho today. Later, the King's successor General Franco. was also a diner at the restaurant. The restaurant closed in the 1980s.

From 1966 to 1968, Sibylla's, a nightclub partly owned by George Harrison was located in Swallow Street. and was a popular meeting place for rock musicians and other artists.

Waterstones Book Shop on Piccadilly occupies a beautiful art deco building, which was formerly Simpsons' Department Store. The Shop has six floors of books with over 200,000 unique titles.
