Worth noting that non of our retreat look the same as we plan activities specific to the venue and retreat books on offer. So every offering is bespoke and each weekend unique.

16 books I recommend through the first half of 2026 AND 6 I can’t wait to read later this year.

I’ve had quite particular tastes to start the year and it’s leaning towards a lot of Sci-Fi, dystopian and darker romance themes. But I have also really enjoyed many of the big books making the rounds this year.

What’s your most anticipated book to close out the year?

I’m thinking we will read Barbara Kingsolver’s new book as a group read at the November retreat in Yorkshire. Let me know if you would like to join along!

It’s Indie Bookshop Week here in the UK and I had to make sure to stop by a local to show them some love. I was able to use this little excursion to sneak out for my first solo trip since having a baby 3.5 weeks ago and what a treat (thanks mom for holding down the fort).

has been in operating the last 100 years and always has a really nicely procured selection of books. Add in a sunny morning and the whole location + experience is top notch London summertime vibes.

I came away with:

…. And a 👶📕

Highly recommend the store and the shopping strip if your are in South London!

Forget about the crazy medical procedures… For a longer, more fulfilling life, drop everything and get together with some well read women. It really is that simple.

Studies show that readers have less anxiety and improve sleep quality! Studies also show that strong female friendships are the key to long term happiness.

We are just here going along with the science! Hope you can join a retreat soon this year.

Lots of variety in my recommended books from April. I’ve crossed a few genres and generally had a good time, but also went off the deep end with a few choice selections.

Recommended:
Non-Fiction: Materscence 4 🌟
Fiction: Wild Dark Shore 4.25 🌟
Dark Romance: Bad Bishop 4.25 🌟
Science Fiction: Project Hail Mary 5 🌟

I finished another 4 that were so-so, and I also have about 4 books on the go which is very unlike me…but I’m currently the queen of mood reading. Here’s to winging it a bit more in May as well!

A new treat for our summertime guests as we are working with illustrator to celebrate her debut book, ‘Locals’. This covers 60 amazing pubs in London and showcases Lydia’s sketch’s of their exterior, but also provides stories and histories of each individual pub.

Lydia is on a mission to draw all 3,500 pubs in London, and will be joining us to sketch the local pub, The Old Swan, and provide some instruction and tips for our guests to create our own art of the local Cotswolds village, Minster Lovell. .minstermill
