The world’s first algae powered building is launched in Hamburg, Germany this week. The five-storey apartment building – called the Bio Intelligent Quotient (BIQ) House – is covered with panels filled with algae that generate renewable energy, hot water and shade for the building.

what a feature this wooden ceiling is...attention to detail is everything in making this type of installation. The diagonal lines add so much depth it opens up the room. Fabulous.
