Dear Michelle,

I hear you loud and clear!
It’s good—very good—to say no.
Of course, “no” and “yes” are full sentences all on their own.

We have the right to make decisions that protect our peace, our well-being, and our sanity.
So when you say no the first time—keep saying it.
Because once you start dancing with “maybe” or bending into a false “yes,”
you open the door for being taken for granted.

For me, saying no means I am finally ready—
ready to dust myself off, to take time out for me.
It is the beginning of true existence,
especially for those of us who have always been the shoulder others cried on.

Now it’s time—your time—
to feel, to release, to cry if you must…
even if you can't find a shoulder to lean on,
stand tall anyway.
Stand for yourself.
Move forward boldly.

And yes, some decisions may shake the minds of others—
because their mindset is limited.
But we… we understand.

Sometimes you must do what makes you happy,
even if just for a fleeting moment.
Because far too often, we live only to please others.
And when we finally choose our joy—
they call us selfish,
they judge our growth.

But I say:
My dear sister, you’ve done the right thing.
We love you for your courage.
We bless your boldness.
God bless you.
