Itinerary
Day One
Leaving the local area by coach, this morning we'll travel to your hotel. Check in, then simply relax until dinner.
Day Two
After breakfast we'll journey through the beautiful Cotswolds countryside to Chipping Campden. Follow the curved high street past ancient buildings and wonderful independent shops, or visit St James' Church to see the oldest altar tapestry in England. Enjoy lunch (payable locally) in one of the town's tea-rooms before we continue to nearby Toddington.
From Toddington we ride the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway to Cheltenham station, through the 693-yard Greet Tunnel and past Winchcombe Station (whose buildings have been transplanted, stone by stone, from Monmouth Troy in Wales). Your 40-minute journey winds through some unforgettable countryside, with views of the Malvern Hills and Vale of Evesham, so keep your camera handy.
Day Three
This morning you'll visit Bourton-on-the-Water. Stroll along the banks of the Windrush, past the low-arched stone bridges that gave the town its "Little Venice" nickname. See St Lawrence's domed tower, visit the Model Railway Exhibition or the Perfume or Motor Car museums, or simply sit in one of the cafes and watch the world go by. After time for lunch (payable locally), we'll head for home, arriving back in the local area during mid-to-late evening.
