Come on the beautiful hike to the sea this Saturday, going over the South Downs hills and through pretty little villages.

– Visit the beautiful Ditchling Village with its 11th century church and ancient buildings
– Conquer Ditchling Beacon, the highest point in East Sussex with an elevation of 248m.
– Hike through the South Downs National Park which is England’s newest national park, stretching from Wi******er to Eastbourne.
– Explore the village of Stanmer, with a working farm at its centre, and a “closed village” from the 16th century until 1952, being owned by the Pelham family.
– See Stanmer House, a Palladium-style English country house built in 1722 and set in 5,000 acres of parkland.
– Follow the stunning views of the sea from Whitehawk Hill to Kemptown.
– Enjoy the vibrant culture of Brighton, which became a fashionable resort with the patronage of the Prince Regent (later King George IV) who constructed the iconic Regency palace, the Royal Pavilion.

– Pass Newhaven Fort, built in the mid-19th century to counter a French invasion.
– Admire the panoramic views of the 700m Newhaven Harbour Arm, Seaford Beach and the chalk cliffs at Seaford Head that lead to the Seven Sisters.
– Follow the clifftop paths past seafront houses of Peacehaven and Saltdean.
– Enjoy the quiet undercliff paths with huge white chalk cliffs towering overhead and the sounds of the waves washing onto the beach.
– Walk up to the magnificent Rottingdean Windmill which towers over the surrounding landscape.
– Take in the change of atmosphere as we reach the bustling life at Brighton Marina, and walk through the complex of apartments and boats.
– Stroll down the promenade that leads us to the Brighton Pier, the Royal Pavilion where Prince George and Queen Victoria stayed, and the colourful little shopping lanes.

This Sunday come with us on the White Cliffs of Dover hike. We'll visit St Margaret's Bay from where adventurous swimmers swim to France, walk on the famous white cliffs, see the South Foreland lighthouse which was site of the first international radio transmission, Dover Castle known as the “Key to England” due to it’s defensive significance, the Roman lighthouse which is one of the oldest buildings in Britain, and the defensive fortifications built into the cliffs to protect Britain during the world wars, walk along the new Dover Marina Pier and then relax on the beach beneath the castle and watch the ferries come in from Europe.
