Some of you have been following me for years and have watched me drop and gain but what you haven’t seen is me quit.

Sometimes, life happens, a medical crisis could creep up and cause you to switch focus. It is okay, take the break you need and get right back to showing your body love once you feel better.

I say this all the time but finding what you love really does help. Don’t lift weights just because you see that Jamie lifts weights. Don’t jump on diets cause you want to drop 15kg in three months. I promise you, that’s just going to set you on a never ending yoyo.

Think long-term, those are the gains that last cos you formed a SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE. Distinguish between complacency and being consistency. There are days where you’ll have to remind yourself to stay strong. Find a tribe to hold you accountable. I have my that I text almost daily, we push ourselves to keep smashing our goals.

So I’ve had all my weekends booked this summer and as a result, I haven’t had time to make all my meals. My go to for busy times is this dish right here is me cryptonite pomododo 😍😍😍.

I promised myself this time that I won’t overeat it, so as soon as my order arrived, I served it into portion bowls and put them in the freezer. That way when the midnight hungry monster tells me to go warm it, I won’t even bother cos it’s hot defrosted 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾. That’s me, efficient Jay, always coming up with tips and tricks 😁

The right side of this dish is ayamasé sauce. It’s my first time trying it and it’s not bad at all. I’m here for the meat fest, every spoon meets resistance 🤣.

I’ll tell you a secret, the camouflage print is made up of shapes from the maps of African countries. Talk about creativity, if I must say so myself 😋. What maps can you see?

Broccoli Swallow - a healthier alternative to eba, starch, pounded yam & amala.

Ingredients

Broccoli,
Semolina flour, &
Cassava starch.

This is my current go to for an alternative to the regular swallow. An added benefit is that you can store it in the fridge for use over the week.

I tried to ways of heating it up, I used the hot water soak for five minutes and microwave for 90seconds. Both options worked okay, I did favour the microwave version just because it saved time.

At first I was going to use just the semo but I wanted a starch like consistency so I added cassava starch and it made a lot of difference. If you don’t have semolina or starch, psyllium husk will have a similar effect.
