The scale of the disaster is too huge to quantify. The devastation too wide. The losses are huge. Like all of you we’ve been overwhelmed with grief for our friends, colleagues, loved ones, and countrymen and women. All we have is hope of rescue for those still under the rubble and thanks for those on the ground working tirelessly to clothe, feed, house, heat, and treat those above ground.
The disaster relief effort has been huge - a truly global response to an unprecedented disaster.
