UNDERGOUND.
This is the web page for London Underground. All information about prices, connections, trains and buses are in this web page. httpp:www.tfl.gov.uk/.
If you are going to travel on the underground and are in London for 7 days, it is worth getting the weekly travel card on your Oyster card. For zones 1 and 2 costs £36.40 per person. When you first register you have to pay £5.00 for your card. When you leave go to any underground station and will refund the money to you.
If you are for less than 1 week, the best way is also to buy an Oyster card, same conditions as the weekly one apply. You can top it up every day. It costs £8.20 off peak times and you can travel by train, underground and buses in zones 1 and 2. My recommendation is to top it up the first day for the amount of days that you will use, so you don’t have to do it every day.
OVERGROUND
The overground at Willesden Junction will take you to the North of London without having to go to Central London. It will also take you in three stops to Richmond which is a very nice place to see.
If you decide to go to Camden Market, take the overground and get off at Camden Road. It much quicker than going to Central London.
BUSES
Once you leave the flat, turn left until the end of the road then turn left and the bus stop is 1 minute away.
Bus no 18 will take you to Euston Road and to Willesden Junction Underground. Some guests prefer to take the bus which is 2 stops, others prefer to walk to the station. Make sure if you take the bus, ask the driver the first time to let you know the stop as it is not very well indicated.
Bus no 260. Will take you to Hammersmith. I don’t think you will need this one as there is nothing to see in that area, but just in case. It will take you to Willesden Junction underground main entrance.
Bus no 266 will take you to Willesden Junction main entrance.
So basically if you don’t want to walk to the station you have these 3 buses to take you. It takes about 5 minutes on the bus and 12 minutes by foot.
Bus no 220 will take you to Westfield Shopping Centre.
FROM GATWICK.
By train. Gatwick to Victoria on the Gatwick express. To book tickets go to the above web page where it will explain prices and times. http://www.gatwickexpress.com
You can also come from Gatwich on the train to Clapham Junction and then take the overground to Willesden Junction. If you connect the trains fairly quick, the whole trip takes 1 our and it costs £10.00 which makes it the cheapest option.
By Bus: http://www.easybus.co.uk/london-gatwick. Have a look at their web page as it will explain all details. Don’t use any other bus service as it can take up to 3 hours!. Not a good experience!
